The Niners can benefit again this week by facing a team playing on a short week. Thre Falcons played on Monday night last week which is probably why they were underdogs heading into yesterday. Playing Seattle tonight might get them beat up a little as well.

Hopefully they go deep into OT and it's a physical and taxing game for both squads.

Even though Seattle ends up getting a bye week...like all 3 of the other NFC West teams for some strange reason. Hopefully we disappoint all their fans next weekend too and get a W on the road vs Houston and Demeco.

I'm confident if I looked back far enough you'd be in this thread blaming the failures of Wilks and Sorensen on Kyle for selecting them.

Funny how you all want to pick and choose when to give the HC credit or the blame for the work his assistants do.

I'll tell you exactly the kind of in game decisions that make me despise Shanahan. Saleh gifts him with a turnover in Falcons territory with 1:28 left in the half. Shanahan knows they get the ball back to start the 2nd half. He calls THREE pass plays, almost gets them out of field goal range but for a lucky "pass" to Colby that let them get back to fg range. And our kicker hits a 55 yarder to save shanny. Shanny gives the Falcons the back with 50 seconds left and but for a fortunate grounding error by penix, the Falcons dont get a score. This type of game management is why I hate Shanahan. And it's why he's lost superbowls. It should get anyone fired.

4-yd Pass

M.Jones pass short right to K.Bourne to ATL 36 for 4 yards (K.Elliss).

(Shotgun) M.Jones pass incomplete short right to C.McCaffrey.
2nd & 6 at ATL 36

-1-yd Pass
0:50 - 2nd

(Shotgun) M.Jones sacked at ATL 44 for -8 yards (L.Floyd). FUMBLES (L.Floyd) [L.Floyd], recovered by SF-C.Colby at ATL 44.The Replay Official reviewed the fumble ruling, and the play was REVERSED.(Shotgun) M.Jones pass short middle to C.Colby to ATL 37 for -1 yards (B.Dorlus, J.Bertrand) [L.Floyd].
3rd & 6 at ATL 36

lol Kyle wanted to run the ball 40 times in that game but that's the stuff you complain about?

What was the incompletion on 2nd down buddy? Was it a screen pass that would've gone for a huge distance had it been completed? Now we want to pretend that screen passes are high difficulty plays? You want them to run the ball on 3rd and 6 in a 2 minute offense?

Don't the mental gymnastics trying to find ways to crap on Shanahan hurt after games like this?

Go look back at the last superbowl. Niners get a turnover in chiefs territory first drive after half. Kyle throws it three times and punts, losing all momentum. Im not picking and choosing. It's a theme over and over again and it's why he loses big games.

It's unbelievable they're 5-2 but Shanahan will never change.

I think your biggest disconnect has to do with the players execution. You sound like you expect all pass plays to result in incompletions, where Kyle calls plays expecting the players to execute. Sure, if they don't and that results in a loss, he catches the blame, but if they execute like they should and they win, he doesn't get near the credit. I'm sure calling plays would be much more predictable, and therefore less effective, if everybody knew they were just going to run all the time because they couldn't complete a pass.

You'd seriously think the season would been over without Brock, Bosa and Warner, but here we, sitting pretty at top of the NFC West with a 5-2 record.
Imagine if the Rams had Stafford, Puka, Adams, and Verse all missing multiple games

The most impressive season in Shanahan's career keeps getting better. Not sure how he's doing it.

McVay is a really good HC in his own right but I'd like to see him deal with that and see how he does.

The words you are looking for are "Thank you Kyle". But I know it's hard to bring yourself to admit you were and are wrong.

Kyle brought Saleh here. Kyle kept Saleh here when you all doubted Saleh and wanted him fired. And Kyle brought Saleh back.

Without Kyle you have no Saleh.

And Kyle is doing all of the same miraculous things on offense that Saleh is doing with the defense given all of the injuries.

Without Kyle, this team probably isn't 5-2 right now.

Not interested in changing your mind as you seem to know everything. What I saw last night was a coach who was thoroughly prepared to take on the Falcons. Moreover, you can argue that the teams success running the ball was a direct result of the game plan Kyle put in. The Falcons seemed thoroughly unprepared for the 49ers to abandoned their zone running scheme in favor of a man blocking scheme. This decision alone turned the tide in the game, unlocked CMC, and provided a perfect counter to an Atlanta team that loaded up small, speedy, pass rushers.

you might still be correct, some day, but this Atlanta game isn't a good case to prove your point. In fact, it proves the opposite.
