49ers Head Coach Kyle Shanahan Thread

Dude you know the deal with the Kyle hater club. It's confirmation bias and nonsense takes. Can't keep anything objective, even when they're winning games

Stubborn thick headed mindsets that would rather be right than admit Kyle might be a good HC.

There's no debate/commonsense/being okay with being wrong to be had, much like a lot of things in this world (especially on SM).

I'll tell you exactly the kind of in game decisions that make me despise Shanahan. Saleh gifts him with a turnover in Falcons territory with 1:28 left in the half. Shanahan knows they get the ball back to start the 2nd half. He calls THREE pass plays, almost gets them out of field goal range but for a lucky "pass" to Colby that let them get back to fg range. And our kicker hits a 55 yarder to save shanny. Shanny gives the Falcons the back with 50 seconds left and but for a fortunate grounding error by penix, the Falcons dont get a score. This type of game management is why I hate Shanahan. And it's why he's lost superbowls. It should get anyone fired.

4-yd Pass

1:28 - 2nd

M.Jones pass short right to K.Bourne to ATL 36 for 4 yards (K.Elliss).
1st & 10 at ATL 40

Incompletion
0:54 - 2nd

(Shotgun) M.Jones pass incomplete short right to C.McCaffrey.
2nd & 6 at ATL 36

-1-yd Pass
0:50 - 2nd

(Shotgun) M.Jones sacked at ATL 44 for -8 yards (L.Floyd). FUMBLES (L.Floyd) [L.Floyd], recovered by SF-C.Colby at ATL 44.The Replay Official reviewed the fumble ruling, and the play was REVERSED.(Shotgun) M.Jones pass short middle to C.Colby to ATL 37 for -1 yards (B.Dorlus, J.Bertrand) [L.Floyd].
3rd & 6 at ATL 36

And don't forget, my personal favorite:

"Okay fine. So you want to fire Kyle so badly. Tell me then… who would you like to replace him with that will certainly win us a Super Bowl instead?"

Kyle haters: "I….. uh… but… ehh oh…. ZEhicjwgxichahw" *self-combusts*

Ya'll run around saying it starts with the HC whenever it's a loss…when it's a win, let's find anything else to give yourselves some confirmation bias

Kyle and Co have been doing an amazing job this yr…why is that so incredibly hard for you Kyle haters to admit?

Kyle's team is winning games. Saleh's defense is performing wonderfully especially given the injuries. Two things can be true

And Kyle made the best move by getting Saleh back here.

Jed needs to give Saleh a mega raise and make him our DC for life!

Promote him to head coach.
Get McDaniels as your OC.
Wait on Demeco to get fired or maybe get Ulbrich as DC.

Trade Shanahan to Cleveland for a massive first round haul and let him keep them in purgatory forever

What makes Saleh a good HC? He already tried and failed. He is better off as a DC.

The supporting cast. McDaniels, like Kyle Shanahan, is an awesome coordinator. Just can't coach the team, but from reports used to sleep at the office scheming up offensive plays when he was OC here. Demeco is a Saleh disciple. Imagine having them both scheming up the defense.

Seems like the better option is to keep Kyle, get McDaniels back, and keep Saleh as DC. I think McDaniels is more willing to come here with Kyle than Saleh.
Another week of eating s**t for Shanny haters.
All the fans that keep compaining about Kyle have no better alternatives. They just seem to think a change would improve the team. Apparently they don't look around the league and see how many coaches get hired and fired within 3 years. Kyle is regarded around the league as one of the top coaches. Does he have some deficiencies? Sure. Nearly every coach does. Unless you have a sure fire candidate that you know will take the team to a SB win then stop complaining. Fire Kyle and the Niners could be what they were before he got here.

Definitely true. More power runs.

Can't win a SB with Kyle. I know it's cute watching him win all these games with a C grade roster, but let's not forget he's lost Superbowls with the best roster in the league…. TWICE. Fans are short sighted. You get a win vs lowly Atlanta, and it feels like God graced us with the greatest coach ever. But reality is he's not capable of winning the big game, and there's no way his ego would allow him to go back to assistant coaching. So the only real way to move on is use him as trade bait, and put a team together from his apprentices. And yes, I give him full credit for guys like McDaniels, Saleh, and Ryans. He made them into legit coaches.

All I'm saying is don't toss out s**t takes like it starts with the HC whenever there's a loss or a poor outing, if you can't apply that same context when they are winning.

We got injuries all over the damn place…the coaching staff as a whole is doing a good job given the roster right now

Exactly. Nobody cared that Kyle found two excellent DC candidates that nobody was excited about with Saleh and Ryans who were hired away because they were doing so well and then we had to pivot to guys who were available late in the hiring process since our team would go late into the playoffs.

One thing we know is when Shanahan is the HC here the offense will find ways to make plays and that players will keep fighting. One thing this season is showing that when Kyle has a DC he trusts 100% then he's a much better coach as a result.

You will never give an honest response but go ahead and tell me what made us have the best roster in the NFL in 2019. 2023 is a little easier but feel free to explain that one as well.

Imagine calling other fans short sighted and being so stubborn that you can't comprehend how former results don't guarantee outcomes later on.

You haven't had an honest response to anything related to the actual game situations outside of bringing up the losses as if they weren't there to be won easily had players done their job.

Your main gripe with Shanahan is he hasn't won a SB...so you want to replace him with guys who haven't won a SB. Brilliant stuff really.

Sounds like when people thought Tomsula would be better because Harbaugh lost a SB.
