Dee Winters did the same last year, but isn't praised

I don't think it's worth bringing in a guy who's not really going to do more than what we already have

Just quit, your argument is absurd and you are literally the only person who thinks Buckner wouldn't be a huge upgrade.

Oh BTW, Buckner has more tackles for losses that anyone on our team over the past 8 seasons.
Just keep your head in the sand

No need to cherry pick stats also

Cherry pick? You're the one saying he isn't a good run defender and needs to make more run stuffs and I pointed out he would have the most TFL out of any defender on our team the last 8 years!!

You just don't know when to quit. But hey keep up with these ridiculous takes. It's enjoyable :)

cause that's definitely not a job/assignment for a DT

Whatever you say dude. I guess you know more than coaches and GM's

DeForest Buckner, Indianapolis Colts: "No real drop-off in his play. He's still elite -- just older and injured." -- NFL defensive line coach

DeForest Buckner as a Run Defender

Interior Dominance: As a 3-technique defensive tackle, Buckner consistently commands double-teams, eating up gaps and allowing linebackers (such as Zaire Franklin) to flow freely to the ball carrier.

High-Motor / Hustle Plays: Coaches and teammates frequently highlight Buckner's relentless pursuit, including tracking down toss plays and perimeter runs from the interior position.

Run-Stop Prowess: Throughout his career, Buckner has ranked near the top of the league among interior defenders in run-stop rate and tackles for loss

John Lynch has got to be riding high with this draft class right because it looks like he's added some guys that could become the next generation of star Niners. Salute to you, Mr. Lynch.

No doubt in my mind that Strib will be a hit from this draft class too

He was sure trending in that direction.

Nah. I will listen to guys who actually know what they are talking about.

You lost all credibility when you tried slamming Buckner from a highlight play.

I remember thinking people needed to slow their roll when they were talking so much s**t about the 49ers' drafting strategy in April. ... Even when it continued throughout the offseason as information slowly filtered out that these guys were actually good. ... I accepted that I don't know more than the 49ers do so I would wait to let things play out. ... To see the faith in the 49ers being rewarded feels good. ... This team has a bright future.

100%

I hope he comes back healthy and in time to knock the rust off for the playoff run.

I was hearing some trade chatter yesterday for Kahlil Mack. It was just regional radio sports talk banter, but I do not want KM!

Why?

he will cost us a draft pick just for half season rental, and take snaps away form our young guns who are going to keep getting better this season at rushing the passer: Height and Dugger

He won't cost a high pick and he's a pass rusher. He does that better than everyone else not named Bosa on this team.

Let's not sugar coat it too much. This regime has been terrible with picks in rounds 1-3. Thankfully (for some reason) they hit on picks later in the draft. It makes no sense

Actually this team has been in the same general range as most other teams taking high picks. Marvin Harrison Jr is the latest example of a team blowing a pick. Kid is a wreck.

But the reason why we hit on late round picks is because he doesn't make those. He picks the first picks on day 1 and 2 then lets the scouts and staff take care of the day 3 and 4 picks.

I don't know if this is trolling or a serious post. It's hard to tell on the Webzone.

I still remember a lot of people on here crediting Adam Peters for every good 49ers' draft pick when the only ones he was ever connected to were disasters.
