Mustapha hit Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba late in the contest but wasn't penalized.
"The play occurred with 1:13 remaining in the fourth quarter," Maiocco wrote. "Cornerback Renardo Green had good coverage against Seattle wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and Mustapha delivered a hit on an incomplete pass."
Wow. The NFL fined 49ers safety Malik Mustapha for a "hit on a defenseless player." More specifically, the hit on JSN on Seattle's final drive.

Maiocco noted that Mustapha will likely appeal the fine.
"Smith-Njigba was slow to get up, and he left the game briefly," Maiocco added. "When Smith-Njigba returned to the game one play later, he dropped a pass around the 25-yard line. The Seahawks failed on fourth down on the next play, and the 49ers preserved the key NFC West victory."
Mustapha made his presence felt throughout the 49ers' win at Lumen Field.
