I think it's time to s**tcan John Lynch after this season if the 2026 class doesn't provide an immediate impact. Not because he makes bad picks, but because he doesn't have the balls to make all the calls. The 49ers rely way too much on consensus instead of having a strong, centralized personnel philosophy. Position coaches should have input, but Lynch and the personnel department should be driving the decisions--not letting every coach's preference carry so much weight. You have Chris Foerster calling Enrique Cruz, one of the worst OL prospects I've ever seen, after he was selected by the Niners and telling him, "I told you we were going to come get you." That's all you need to know about their draft philosophy.

Purdy is 26, turns 27 right before new years. We have locked down our franchise QB (impact player) for the next decade. That alone keeps our window open for as long as he is around.

Now that Al Guido has taken over as CEO, he probably wants to bring in his own guys. He already got rid of Paraag.

The success of late round picks and udfas show the personnel guys themselves aren't the problem IMO.

Personnel guys have plenty of sway throughout the process….I don't think there's a ton of FO/coach vs scouting going on.

If we wanted a different philosophy, we would have to look outside of the organization. As far as the HC goes….if they're an established HC they will have plenty of say throughout the process regardless of the team.

I want an established from office guy. No more random former players….someone with experience in building a team (doesn't have to be a former GM).

I truthfully believe Kyle can work with a lot of guys.

I think there is a lot of go get this player because the coach wants them going on. Or go get this position. No way are the personnel guys clamoring to get running backs at the end of day 2. Or a kicker.

i don't believe the personnel guys have the philosophy that the coaches should be making the ultimate call. That's a Kyle philosophy and one he needs to let go.

Guys that are involved in the process for 2-3 months should take a backseat to those who live and breathe it.

Just sign Laken at this point. He's gonna offer more than a middling backup guy some team wants to trade.

Why hasn't any team signed Kevin Zeitler? We're not the only ones that have some issues on the IOL. Are we certain he's not just retired?

Difference is Laken knows the offense and has actually worked out for the Lions recently. Not sure Zietler wants to play.

Not sure why, also not sure if any team has tried. Haven't heard if he's retired or waiting for the right opportunity. But we do know he's out there for just a contract.

I think most established HCs have a pretty big say in the draft. You explain the scheme and guys you want to the scouts. They scout for said players and give you film for the coaches to watch. Collectively they come up with grades.

I think draft philosophy/how to build a roster is kinda different than the process (which is what people are complaining about).
