Been saying for the last three years. Our gm is weakest link. Think what Kyle could do with a roster that was balanced…. It's a tragedy if we keep doing the same s**t every year.

With all those high draft picks why aren't those teams winning or even getting to super bowls? By the time the Niners usually pick thre best tackles are off the board. The best at every position are gone. When you pick at the end of the round you're often left with guys that are marginal. After the top 15 or 20 players the quality starts to all look about the same.

I don't think the 49ers are any worse than some of the other top tier teams that draft later in rounds. About half of all 1st round picks never become star players. The thing that really skews the Niners recent failures is the Lance trade . That was a complete disaster and it cost us the next 2 years as well. Other than that the Niners drafts have pretty much been graded as C to B depending on the year. The results after the picks have suffered because of injuries in some cases. Those can't be predicted.

Williams, Collins and West haven't played enough to make a full evaluation. Williams was actually progressing well considering they were moving him inside and outside so he had to learn a lot. Once Bosa got hurt he was forced to play more on the edge because of need. West and Collins showed occasional flashes but lacked consistency. I say we need to give them at least this year before we start calling them busts.

The thing is every year there's going to be at least a couple spots that need upgrades because of injuries or players leaving via free agency. No team is perfect at every position. The Seahawks got lucky with some picks that turned out better than expected but they still had some weaknesses.

No there sure isnt.
I like Lynch and Kyle.
I also don't think they are particularly great drafters.

I think the Browns, Texans, Seahawks, Eagles have been much better as of late.

I will say this years draft looks promising

Key is the personnel people being in charge. That's the change that needs to happen whether Lynch is gone or he gets bumped up and a personnel guy becomes GM.

Kyle can continue to pick the 53 but he needs to trust in the guys who focus all their time on finding players to construct the 90.

They built a championship team. That defense is different and they win with Sam I am the turnover machine. What have we built during the same period? We keep building like this and we should invest in a hospital right next to the stadium to deal with the injuries and build a retirement center on the other side for late stage vets we keep signing. It's the same s**t every year. Good enough to compete for a playoff but far from good enough to win it all. It ain't back luck. It ain't the sub station it's the organizational philosophy that needs a tune up. The f**king Seahawks won it all in our house with our backup qb. Insulting. Our offense will continue to struggle from two things. Always needing 30 plus to win and an offensive line one play away from killing our qb. This is a paper team. Names look good but they are too old or too fragile. Bosa missed 25% of the games since signing, Rick glass out more games than he played, Greenlaw can't stay healthy if his life depended on it, cmc with the tendinitis, kittle getting up there, Evans is an IR candidate just waiting to happen, DSam breaks down half way through the season.. he has a lot of hard miles on him. Last years record was half miracle and half Kyle doing his best to hold it together. If we want to win we need to do things differently. New philosophy. New GM.

You ask what have the Niners built? We'll since Kyle and John came aboard they completely rebuilt a team that was total garbage and managed to get to 2 SBs and 4 conference title games. Not bad considering all the injuries this team has suffered. I know it woud hav ebeen nice to win this eSB games but they were in position to win both. It wasn't Lynch's fault or even Kyle's that the defense could come through in the 4th quarter. My point is this team has been a contender nearly every season so you can't say Kyle and John have done a terrible job.

And it's arguable that their best team was undone by a single untimely injury (2022). You can't draft for that.

Look at Pearsall. The picture of health in college.

Lynch went D-line heavy in that draft pretty much for Saleh. Then he bolts to Tennessee only for the 9ers to run a completely different system in 2026. They should've either traded up in the draft or traded the picks for a player. Cause these guys aren't looking so good in Morris's defense.

Yeah I think that's a big factor in the 2025 draft being a bit ineffective. vs KC which has had stability at the DC coordinator level for almost a decade or more.

Good news is that Raheem being twice failed HC really decreases the odds of him leaving anytime soon.

Agree, Spagnuolo has had two failed head coaching stints in the NFL, I haven't heard of any NFL team eager to hire him since his last NY head coaching stint back before covid.

True.

Think of all the draft picks we've wasted on Rbs over the years

The eagles draft class this year is not looking good. Lemon barely started practicing and looked bad yesterday, their 2nd round the is unplayable right now, and there have been no other impact players.

Who knows what happens but the draft is a crap shoot

No he wasn't lol
He's had a few bad drafts but he's been in league offices for 30 years. Niner fans would replace Lynch with Schneider in a heartbeat. Schneider has 3 Lombardi's and should've had 4 if they handed the ball to Marshawn at the one. Roseman can't even sniff Schneider's jock as a GM. Les Snead is even a better GM than Roseman
