But sorry, I simply can't get over the DeZaun pick. One of the worst picks ever and I'm not being overdramatic. You had 21 hours to think about it and listen to trade offers and you pick a guy three rounds early at #33. That's a legit fireable offense for the horrible asset management alone.

The trade downs are the only reason this draft isn't an F.

it must be nice to be able to determine a draft pick's entire career trajectory a few hours after he's been selected. Can you do that with stocks as well? I could use a good investment strategy.

It doesn't matter if he ends up being the best WR of this draft class. We had pick #33 along with plenty of trade offers and we selected him when he very very very easily would've been available at #90.

It's about the asset management.

AAgree we can rate this draft extremely disappointing simply by looking at the positions drafted. We don't need to wait to see if the players become performers or not. The draft insulted the needs of this team. It's that simple. Flat out badmouth the 49er team.
Former safety suddenly hates cover safeties once he became Shanny's whipping boy
They probably should be bothered by this considering their track record with reaches and RBs. Still can't believe they actually took him in the 3rd

Like Black, the 49ers picked both Stribling and Height ahead of their consensus spots in the media and public's pre-draft rankings — but Lynch and Shanahan seemed unbothered by notions of a reach in any three of those cases.

"Thats where we had them," Lynch said. "At the end of the day, our entire building had conviction
A typical sample from the media. Obviously they read this forum.

Their track record is good enough in the later rounds that I still trust their scouting despite this feeling like history repeating itself. I guess since I don't follow college ball I really have no attachment to who a player is when they're picked, like OTC who is losing his s**t. I'll continue to trust our FO, despite the failures, because there's been enough successes to keep us one of the most competitive teams in the league year over year.

Every single analyst, journalist, reporter, etc., doing a piece on Niners will come in here. Dudes in here know their s**t about 49ers more than they do

True, I don't know s**t about these guys outside of what I read. Just going off of track record with these particular picks. Hope they got it right
Just to put this running back discussion into perspective we have to remember that 2 years ago we had the best running back room in the NFL. We had McCaffrey we had Mason we had gorendo and even Mitchell in the offseason.

We traded for McCaffrey and everybody else was a udfa if I'm not mistaken. No third round picks needed.

Yet we completely dismantled this room for reasons nobody can explain and that we're not in the best interests of the team. This background should be understood very closely to see if there is a connection with our self harming draft strategy.

It could be that we are a team ruled by imperious power mongers and volatile personal egos not people who make reasonable decisions to benefit the group. To be successful we have to manage the team as a football team not a springboard for Fantasy Football egos
Are the poop emojis really necessary on the kid's thread. Don't take them off if he turns out to be our next star RB

Similar thing happened in Denver with Shannys Dad. Hit on the Portis pick, traded him then kept drafting RBs high when they were signing 1000yard rushers off the street. This FO is operating the same way just without ever hitting on an early RB pick.

It has nothing to do with the player.

90 spot reach. NINETY SPOTS

Totally agree even if he flames out. Totally unprofessional admin should step in. Kid stepping into a s**t show he did not make.

It doesn't look like that though. Start a seperate poll on our draft performance and put the emojis there
Thank you.

Feel free to start that poll any time.
How would you grade Lynch's draft classes?

2017: C getting Kittle in the 5th and DJ Jones in the 6th saved it from being an F
2018: C, getting Warner in the 3rd saves it from being an F.
2019: A: Bosa, Samuel, Greenlaw
2020. B-: Aiyuk and Jennings
2021. F They got Lenoir and Hufunga, but everything else was abysmal and they spend 3 picks on Lance
2022: C-: Once again, saved by a late round selection of Brock Purdy, but the rest of the class is trash.
2023: F: stinking pile of s**t
2024: C+ 4 starters, which is kind of impressive but they are all average + Bethune.
2025: C- : too early to grade, but looking like a C- so far.
