His cap hit for this year is only $8 million and next year wouldn't be that much more at $21 million cap hit that. BUT, I'm sure Trent Williams $38 mil cap hit in 2026 will be reworked and so will Aiyuk's $15 mil cap hit, no denying that!!! The cap can be and will be manipulated next year to free up money. Yetur Gross-Matos will surely be released, dude straight up stole $9 million from the 9ers this season, that's actually a bigger hit than Huff. Jake Brendel, IMO is surely a goner, I doubt they keep him at $5 mil and gonna be 35 years old. Jennings is also a goner, all his other years are voidable and they will be this upcoming March. Kittle and CMC's contracts are the only ones I doubt they'll touch.

Teams with high paid QB's work the salary cap to stay competitive all the time!! Tell me how the Patriots, Chiefs, Philly, Baltimore did it all those years? They're consistently in the race for the Super Bowl each year and it's not like they have a bunch of no names around their QB's either!!! Is anyone gonna admit that the 49ers have been mis-managed all these years?

Tom Brady took less every single year to win

Chiefs, Philly and Baltimore all won with QBs on rookie deals and Hurts made 13 mil last year.

It anything paying a QB huge money has shown that teams are LESS COMPETITIVE.

Miami, Jacksonville, LA, Dallas, Cincinnati all have 50 mil QBs and they stink

The issue isn't paying players. We just chose to extend the wrong players and we let quality players go and didn't replace them in the draft

His earnings from the NFL was 318 million. So yes, at one point he could take less to allow the team to spend on others. That doesn't equate to spending less every single year.

It's simple. Don't pay Brock, Trent or Aiuyk.

DJ Jones isn't a starter in Denver and wouldn't be a starter here. He's paid 10 mil a year which is what rotational linemen get.

And and FYI, try using the space bar and make proper sentences. You'd think for someone who has been "doing this since 2005" you'd know how to string a sentence together

There is no justification for this personal attack. Next time the foot will fall much harder.

Lynch was on KNBR talking about the Cal-Stanford rivalry and they got to talking about Walsh and how ruthless he was. Bill said he wanted to gut these guys. Her may have been a coaching genius and sounded very scholarly when he spoke but he was really a tough SOB at heart.

We really need Mykel to be a hit, though. His injury worries me. I really hope it's not like Trey Lance where the dude breaks and then he's permanently done. If that's the case, I wouldn't blame the FO for just going full-blown Rams and trading all our 1sts for proven talent over the next decade. Not all first round picks this regime has made are bad (like some users in this thread are implying) but they really shouldn't be coin flips, either. First round picks are the selections where you should really be hitting 75% of the time, not 50%. If Mykel is another bust, I say eff it and just trade our 1sts for proven talent moving forward!

Ahmm...Trey Lance in hindsight was a clear early disappointment who fell out of favor with Kyle early but they made the investment in him and handed him the job in year 2.

Mykel has been a starter since training camp of his rookie season. The coaches and players have raved about him and talked about him having a great future in this league. You never know how guys come back from injury but I don't think the comparison is anything you have to worry about. Not only are the positions so far different from each other but the early return on both guys also being vastly different.

I think it's kind of funny how quickly people want to send draft picks for "proven" players. That was what everyone pointed to when the Rams brought in Stafford, Ramsey, etc.

How did they rebuild their roster? DRAFT PICKS. They went from saying "F them picks" to bringing in like 20 rookies as part of their rebuild.

And despite people's complaining here the majority of the roster that has us at 7-4 despite key injuries all over the place were players we drafted.

The Rams wouldn't have a SB without trading for Stafford, Ramsey and Von Miller. Even CMC said when Carolina traded him he thought he was going to the Rams.

As for us, how many wins would we have without CMC, Trent Williams, Mac Jones, Kendrick Bourne, Bryce Huff and Brian Robinson? All players we traded for or signed.

95% of our draft picks have done literally NOTHING.
I love it now Lynch said he was annoyed watching Brissett set an NFL record for completions last weekend and we couldn't get to him with our pressure.

Dude, this is the team he built. It's solely on him for drafting like garbage and then not improving the team at the trade deadline to add players who could have brought some pass rush.

He built it but I doubt he expected every pass rusher he brought in to get injured. Saleh and the D line coach share some of the blame as well.

Just because you say it doesn't make it true.

CMC is the only guy on that list who was a mid season trade and we traded for him with a vastly different roster situation. If you can't understand differences like that then I don't know what to tell you.

We are not comparable to the 2021 Rams. We're the 2023 Rams version, which is heavily built around their own guys.

Seriously. Love when some fans are so busy bashing the front office that they overlook simple things like that.

As if our pass rush literally didn't close out the first 2 games.

You do not seem to be aware of the fact that Kyle Shanahan de facto hired Lynch with the agreement Lynch would help support Kyle's program. Nothing happens on this team that KS does not approve.

So to be consistent, you should desire Shanahan be replaced also.

Hah, wrong. The teams that went to the Super Bowl could have just as well won with a bounce or two. Deforest Buckner wasn't the reason we didn't win one.

The issue is not only winning with a cheap QB, but you gotta find that QB first buddy - then the clock starts running.

Which players are you referring to? I'm sure this will be great...

Also I better not catch you calling Purdy a $50 million QB if you're going to claim Hurts made 13 mil last year.

He did get $13 million last year but that was only because Philly pushed $93 million guaranteed into this year and next.
