We don't know yet but this maybe another s**t show in 2025.
Getting tired of some of you who constantly say the oline is crap because we don't have a pro bowler at every position. You guys have no clue how bad other teams olines are. Our oline is so bad our backup swing tackle got PAID during the free agency. Our oline is so bad our LG that none of us wanted got PAID during free agency. Let that sink in. Our castoffs are signing huge deals.
I did a quick google search and didn't find one publication that thought our oline sucked. Not great but we are in the middle of the pack. Can we get better on the offensive line? Hell yeah but lets stop acting like it was a bigger need then the dline was.

I don't like the ranking systems they use. Most of the stats are taken from a whole season that has a lot of garbage time and really weak opponents. The center is horrible maybe he was injured maybe he wasn't. McKivitz was maybe average and Banks is gone. Maybe with a healthy TW we could be better on the left Tackle position but he's older and we lost our swing tackle.
Sorry but the so called rating systems are crap. Just watch our games. Purdy is running for his life which also probably helps the rankings.
By the way the rankings systems also have us with a horrible draft, which we have no idea what this class will bring.
I know this site can have homerism but I'm sick of some people saying it's OK not to invest in the OL.
Sorry for the rant but I've been pounding the keyboard for 3 years with no change. It takes offensive lineman at least two years to develope and that's if their good.
This is truth. NYNiner + mike are wrong to quote the stats. Our Pass Blocking is flat out dangerous for our QB who already has had surgery on his throwing elbow. Purdy is an elite QB in escapability, which mitigates the damage on a game by game basis.
But I can't recall playing any other team on the schedule that has had as many lineman plowed on their ass as we have. Does anyone remember even a couple times? I missed them. Yet this is not a rare event for Brendel, McKivitz and Buford (2023).
We are the lightest offensive line in the league due to a philosophical commitment to OZ game plan which is not relevant anymore. We need to adjust. Maybe the ttt is high because brock is running for his life too many times. The other numbers are mediocre at best and must be improved even if they are not "the worst in the league". Is that really an argument? # 17 isn't the worst, so we can neglect the oline for another year? For a kick returner and 5th string QB we likely could have gotten udfa?
Even if there are behind the scenes factors which justify giving Brendel/McKivitz de facto starting roles into training camp, we still need to evealuate fresh talent and plan accordingly. Also, maybe add developmental asst coach help to forrestor and invent better pass pro schemes, coach up better pass pro technique. I don't see any of these other actions being taken either.
You can't give a team s**tty draft grades for players they didn't take because you have to grade just the pick. But this year feels like an exception to that rule for us.
