Oh nooooees, the media is upset!

BTW, looking just at PFF, they gave this draft a D, but they gave both the 2021 and 2022 drafts - ones that are EVISCERATED constantly on this forum lately - each a B grade.

So, yeah, the day after grades mean jack.
I never pay attention to draft grades they are even more ambiquous and biased than mock drafts .

If the team focused on offense instead of defense PFF would still give the same grade.

Side note: Mel Kiper gave the Browns draft an A+

Drafts are usually evaluated from value perspective and Niners eschew all value once they get into third round

The 22 draft Drake jackson was in line with perceived value (or maybe even better) and they had very few picks...although TDP was still a big reach

The 21 draft they went all in for a QB and there were no perceived reaches in the first few rounds AFAIR, Banks was a slight reach but it wasnt a round+ reach

The grades never *mean* anything because its not a prospect evaluating grade. if PFF or any other outlet on the internet or in real life could evaluate prospects with full authority, they would at least be a successful scouting agency.

The draft grade is a rough combination of how they evaluate players combined with draft pick value and how they think a team used their resources. People should stop using it as an indictment of prospects.

It's just that every year people ask how did Howie get this player ? Well, Eagles and Ravens go with BPA and rarely reach and are willing to take chances on prospects whose stock falls. And they typically get good grades because they get value.

You take it so personal lol I like his draft.

Yeah I mean I thought there was some reaching for sure. Overall I wanted them to attack the defense, especially DL in this draft. They did it with two of the 3 guys I really liked (Williams/West) I'm warming up on Collins after seeing Hero and others talk about him. I would have went in a different direction with some of the picks but overall good there.

they added some serious beef and muscle up front and got a ton of speed behind it.

I need to watch more of Jordan Watkins to have an idea on him. Serious juice on the outside, go watch that Arkansas game 👀 they could have something there.

I knew they wanted James at RB. That was talked about throughout the draft process. He likes to score TDs, so I'm down with that. One of the few RBs that they actually drafted that I think will live up to the pick.

like everyone else, would have liked a pick or two on OL…especially IOL. Overall once Grant got scooped up, I was out on all the rest of these tackles. Someone like Mnbow or Frazier would have made this draft an A for me.

wild we had 11 picks and didn't move at all. I don't even think they really tried too hard to trade. I would have liked more dealing and moving around to get guys they valued vs taking who's there.

Yeah I said it earlier in this thread right after the draft was done. I wanted trenches with the rest focused on defense. They did the defensive line. I like those picks big time. The rest tbh feels like a bit of reach.

I mean how many snaps do we expect Watkins or James to get? The only way is via injuries so I guess that's possible. I would have gone o line there for sure.

I dont blame the pundits for our grades. This draft doesn't have the same feel as last years.

Somehow hell make it back for season whereas if he was still here the whole thing would've been ripped off bone.

Correct.

Look back in 3 years for the actual grade.

I remember the 1986 draft was panned by the media. Got a D grade by many pundits.
They didn't like it because Walsh traded down many times and picked many players unknown to the media
Turned out it was the greatest draft in history.
