Dude spare me the "competitive" stuff… I want guys like Trent Williams, Kittle, Deebo, Lance, Fred Warner, Bosa, armstead, Ward/Ward etc. you can't have pro-bowl highly paid guys at every single position.

tartt does a lot of the dirty work and sorry those dudes are just as important to the whole team. Quit being so disrespectful dude. I get it, you look at the stat and make a decision on a player. He's far from not good and does way more good things than bad things.

If only they put that level of analysis into other teams. I wonder if people on Rams boards had meltdowns over their linebackers last year.

Yeah it's weird and it's not like he blows or is a problem out there either. He does the dirty work and gets zero respect

did we resign tartt? I thought he still hasn't signed with a team yet.

Much of this board had no idea about the rest of the NFL. It's why you see comments about our pass blocking being awful or that other teams have invested so much more into their team at x position. I have my criticisms of how Lynch is doing things but I also pay attention to how the rest are doing things. It simply comes down to the 9ers need better QB play to take the next step. The rest are along for the ride.

I got a feeling that as long as Tartt is still sitting out there next month, the niners will look to bring him back. Just waiting on the inevitable Dee Ford June release to come into effect and a roster spot to open up.
I was reading Lynch's comments regarding Jimmy and I hope he's just trying to drum up trade interest. I really don't want to see him on the Niners for another year. We've been down that road and we know we need an upgrade. Holding back Trey for another year is just going to delay the upgrade. Even if they start Trey, you don't want him looking over his shoulder all season. He needs to worry about defenses not Jimmy.

lol,, there is a reason for that.. the niners and lots of fans tend to overvalue some of our players. there is a reason no one is looking at him.

Yeah i think thats all he is doing. He doesnt want Jimmy and it sounds like the shoulder surgery played a huge role in him being on the team today. Other than flat out releasing him and still losing his guaranteed injury settlement money i just don't know how else they could have handled it since Jimmy elected to get the surgery. I'm sure some on here would have just eaten the loss and release him. Maybe they still will once he passes a physical. Maybe they keep him until camp.

With that said I still think the Panthers, Seahawks and Giants could all make a QB move. Seahawks currently have Drew Lock as their starter. Not a good way to start the rebuild. Panthers coach is on the hot seat and he's going with Sam Darnold? Giants are strapped for cash but that front office is not married to Daniel Jones.

pretty glaring hole.. tartt has underwhelmed his entire career.. its like if mack retires . the answer is to bring back kilgore. but its fine.. i have already agreed with you. its good to be competitive and to make safe choices . so relax

please explain what Tartt does wrong from a scheme standpoint? Don't give me random stats, what is he bad at?

not a single person said anything about Kilgore. Tartt is not Kilgore lol.

all I'm saying is you can't go high end elite at every position.

he is not a difference maker
he makes few plays which is what you want in his spot... check his record... very few pass breakups.. very few interceptions.. he is also a not very good tackler. as you said. the best that can be said.. he is safe. aside from poor tackling in my opinion.. he makes very few plays if any and we sure know when he has a chance. he drops picks. if you like safe. he is your man.... you and your high end elite talk.. there has to be a nice inbetween of safe and someone who can make plays and be a difference maker in that spot.. i am sure you will disagree with my thoughts on him since you love him .. but you asked

Maybe in Madden. But in the real world, if this were the case, Rodgers & Brady would have 10 Superbowl wins each, Mahomes 5, Burrows, Allen, Young, Montana, Jackson, etc.

No matter how simple minded we try to make this game, this is still a team game and all of your weaknesses will be exposed in the playoffs.
I was wondering why Lynch didn't make any trades during the draft. Given the speed and number of UDFA maybe he was busy lining up guys in case they didn't get picked.

you missed the memo... our method of operation is now safe...... our goal is just to be competitive. nothing more

How many SuperBowls does Quenton Nelson have?

The biggest weakness that was exposed in the playoffs was the QB not being able to throw it to the open guy. Every weakness is not equal.
