With Aiyuk starting to get revved up, bringing OBJ in could be a risk to stunt Aiyuk's growth. Just when Aiyuk is starting to get some targets, Kittle comes back, then OBJ is brought in - risky. OBJ has complained about lack of targets in the past.

We passed on OBJ before. We've passed on AB before. We've passed on other players that would erode the culture of the team. I rather let Aiyuk, Jennings, and others develop vs. dealing with OBJ culture clash.

He's talented, but not worth the noise.

We passed on OBJ because that idiot Gettleman wanted the 2nd overall pick which was Bosa and Buckner which was an easy no. They were interested in him but not for that ridiculous price. AB was an easy pass with the off the field and locker room issues

OBJ will probably end up with the Bucs

I agree 2014-16 he was a great player. Luckily when you throw around the word generational talent you take a players entire career and it isn't close. Julio is this generation generational talent.

People may not agree but I think a good comp for Beckham is LeVeon Bell. Great start to the career but in both cases you can see cracks beneath the surface. They both appeared to be malcontents and not really team guys. They both really wanted their big deals and once they got them the wheels fell off. They collected the fat checks while the performance fell off a cliff. Going with this comparison the post Browns phase for Odell will go over about as well as the post Jets phase for Bell.

A player can have generational talent and have it lost in an instant (Saquan Barkley is heading that way). I don't think anyone is saying Julio isn't a phenomenal receiver and a generational one at that. OBJ came in with generational talent but due to injuries and possibly a bad offensive fit and a bad QB he is now just a receiver with name recognition. The tape and advanced stats says he is still getting open and we could benefit from that if we are serious about trying to get to the playoffs. Unless you actually think we are better having Sanu play instead of adding OBJ but I know you're smarter than that.
I can't disagree with what you're saying here. I still don't think he's good for young players. 2 teams have decided he wasn't worth the headache. He would likely be better than sanu. I still stand by the fact he isn't great for our young receivers. One of which we are just getting through work ethic/professionalism issues whatever you may call it. Again, if we get him I hope I am eating crow and he loves it here. I will not be crying if we don't go after him tho.

None of us have had OBJ as a teammate so none of us can speak for certain about him being a "locker room cancer" or "bad teammate". The Browns have had multiple young players such as Donovan Peoples Jones and he has flourished in Cleveland as a late round pick. A lot of these kids grew up watching and probably idolizing OBJ and I don't think anyone has ever questioned his work ethic. OBJ has been an artist running routes and that is something Aiyuk needs to work on. There's virtually no risk signing OBJ other than if he is a locker room cancer. And with how the Browns players have come out and defended him it seems like he was still a good teammate just internally hated his situation. I think that's very relatable.

That would be scary.

"Locker room cancer", according to forum posters who have never stepped foot into a NFL locker room

but he's a locker room cancer derp

and you're just talking out your butt like you're in the locker room and know who OBJ is lol. YOUR favorite QB is bros with him for god sake.

there isn't a single source that puts his name down saying he's a bad teammate.....instead you have multiple teammates saying the opposite. You want to rip on his play, then fine do that, we can all have a debate about that...there's film there. YOU have no f**king clue who he is as a man and what he wants as a player. So cut the b******t.

You posted a podcast of Jalen "dumbass who said Michael Jordan is overrated" Rose saying OBJ quit on the Browns. So we are supposed to take what some basketball player who has zero knowledge of the situation has to say serious? Just give it up man you don't like him we get it
I'm sure he will do his due dilligence but don't expect a signing lol

If he goes to a team after us on the waiver wire most peoples heads will explode. And Lynch will say "we like the guys we have here"

anyone posting someone who lives off hot takes and isn't a legit reporter to backup their stance has nothing real to debate with.

Do we seriously think a 29yr old OBJ isn't gonna be motivated to prove he's still a good WR? He has no GTD cash and will be looking for a new contract this off season. Yeah I'm sure he's gonna just loaf around and be a distraction

I just don't understand why no one would be ok with this team taking a chance on him. He's not going to get paid the contract he signed in NY, he'll be happy playing in Cali than Cleveland who wouldn't and motivated to prove he's not washed and looking for a new contract.
Does anyone here see OBJ dropping to 12th on the waiver list?
