i think its ok to like the picks we got. , and even hate the picks we got. and still voice serious well founded concern about the offensive line.

i was thinking if we could find some suckers to give us some 6th round picks for some of our garbage like pettis goodwin and cj. maybe a 6th for brieda,.,. not sure what i think if the team does go to the second level and trade a ford or alexander.. you would need someone better than what they are for next year which creates a whole other issue

Josh Rosen might be available now that Tua and Fitzpatrick are in Miami.

Anyway guy was the 10th pick and is only 23, can backup and be groomed by Shanahan, I don't know.

I'll take whatever for Petter, Goodwin and CJ. Breida has to be a decent price. These guys have little value.

They could dump Kwon or Dee, yeah. That would require some good picks.

Yeah I agree CC. No one is perfect or above criticism. Just the level of disdain is amusing

Totally agree with those that see OL as a priority that is being neglected. I'm sure that Garoppolo would appreciate not being blasted right up the middle when he drops back to pass.

It seems clear Shanahan sees a healthy Richburg, with Brunskill at RG as the answer for now. Maybe something happens in the next couple of days.
I really like how NCommand put it:

Let's hope Staley returns. Let's hope Brunskill is the answer. Let's hope Richburg heals up from another major injury.

Or take measures so you don't have to always be hoping every year.

Its weird this team doesn't value the offense line

At this rate the offensive line will always be a question. Tbph it was similar with Shanny Sr. The broncos superbowl runs were made with undervalued or cast off linemen for the most part similar to their RBs. Every now and then they would put a high pick at those positions (Portis, Clady) but for the most part they filled in the gaps by identifying scheme fits from whatever was available.

I don't see Miami dumping him cheap given Fitz' age. I think they give him a year.

I recall Kyle saying you needed talent to play defense but you could scheme on offense.

If only we could trade Zoners too
After seeing the way this draft turned out, it's clear the whole thing was shaped by the salary cap. The couldn't afford Buckner and didn't want to pay Sanders at his age so they replaced them with younger and cheaper players. Kinlaw and Aiyuk could end up being better than who they are replacing but only time will tell. They save about $22 million against next years cap which could end up being lower if no games or fewer games are played this year.
Last night we replaced what we lost earlier this offseason. We didn't get better compared to last year's roster.

We are worse and it can't be put any other way. Hopefully in a couple of years the guys we selected last night can turn out to be damn good players, comparable to the players they are drafted to directly replace. For this team to compete at a similar level they they last season it will because of the guys already here on the roster, not what was drafted.

That scheming on offense will be put to the test this coming season with no instant impact players coming in to help immediately.

Its such a young roster that the expectation is that guys on the roster last year will be better this year. Bosa, Warner, Greenlaw, and Jones on defense alone could take a big leap year over year.
