Ugg. MAN I hate Seattle. 1) Gabbert: Really not much to say. Was Gabbert THE reason they lost? Nope. Did he do ANYTHING to prevent it from happening? Nope. League worst yards per completion. This isn't all his fault. Not by a long shot. He doesn't really have many weapons...but he is SOOOO risk averse and so seldom lets plays develop that he is effectively completely inefective. I'll just leave it there. Not much else to say. 2) O-Line: Again...good in pass protection and not so great run blocking. Facing a great D-Line and front 7 for 3rd straight week and really not allowing much pressure. Some of that of course has to be attributed to Gabbert getting the ball out quickly even when he shouldn't, but they are protecting for him. Huge upgrade this season. 3) Buckner: I have big hopes for him so don't get me wrong, but has he looked a bit invisible to you guys this season? I just haven't seen much from him. Now he's a 3-4 end so I realize he isn't going to pop on every play, but I just haven't seen much. I also realize he's young and learning on the job so I'm giving him a pass. Just wondering if anyone else is seeing what I am. 4) Blair: Where'd he go? I was so excited to see him get some playtime after the preseason and I've seen almost nothing from him. I know he isn't starting but he's been in there and he's not getting there either. 5) Brooks: Brooks actually had himself a game. I dunno how long it lasts but he's been playing pretty well this year. 6) Harold: Outside of injuring Wilson, dude has been invisible. The Niners desperately need some rush from the OLB position. Tank Carradine isn't doing anything. Aaron Lynch can't get back fast enough. 7) Ward: That hurts. Don't know how bad he's hurt but he was really starting to play well. Yeah, he had some trouble with Benjamin, but I think Ward might really have a bright future at CB. 8) Hyde: Garbage yards at the end there but I don't care. Was still nice to see him find some space and score twice. Obviously the D was relaxed, but was still nice to see. 9) Murderers Row: OK. They are finally through the Murderers Row of front 7s. That is probably the worst 3 game stretch they'll see of defenses. The Cowboys and Cards will present their own challenges, but those were the best fronts they'll see all year (and they'll see 2 of them again). NOW I want to see if this O can get untracked. NOW I want to see if they can get this run game going and yes, I'd like to see a diff QB. 10) Rebuilding Year: We always knew this wasn't going to be a playoff year. We all knew that going in. This year to me is really an extended Preseason. Its just taking stock of what you have and what you still need. There are good pieces all over the team and they are playing youth at almost every position. Long run, they'll be better for it. Short term, there is going to be some ugly losses. Strap up because this may not be the last ugly loss on the schedule...but I'll bet there are going to be some surprises this year and at the end we are all going to have a much better picture of what they have and what they still need.

Same old same old, no receiving threats on offense, no pass rushers on defense. What bothers me is that for all the talk about wanting to build inside out, this team can neither run the ball nor stop the run. During the Nolan/Sing years, we pretty much had the same exact issues, except we could run and stop the run. As bad as we were back then, at least that roster had a blue collar identity which ended up being the foundation of our contending years.

I don't see the same glimmer of hope yet for this roster. We're just getting crushed in all phases. Maybe this team just needs to build up an identity against weaker teams. Scheduling obviously did us no favors the past two weeks.

Yes, but I forgive you even though you just made me realize that's the first time this season I haven't felt sorry for a player getting hurt.

srsly f**k that team they purposely injured Ian Williams back in the day on dirty play, and also a cheap shot on Delanie Walker broke his jaw.

He did the flex thing but it was kinda half hearted. Almost seemed to me it was more out of frustration than anything else.

I do understand why people would be annoyed by it though.

Im old school I dont like people celebrating TDs when they are down 30 in the 4th, it makes them look foolish. But thats the least of our problems

I was laughted at when i said that we needed a NT and that a NT isn't valuable because they only olay 2 downs. ..

It was still kind of sad that Harold only dragged him down because of the stiff arm from a smaller player.

that play was BS. Wilson only got a flag because he stayed down after in pain

For the middle:

DL - I want to say that Harold and Buckner were having a hard time against the run. The Purcell/Dorsey/Dial group seemed to calm things down.

LB - Bowman was great. I think Ray Ray > Hodges because of his speed.

S - Bethea has no range. Reid has good straight line speed, but O'Neil puts him all over the place. The opposing QB just needs to read where Bowman and Reid can break. Everywhere else is practically open.
