I agree, Gordon would be really nice to add to our roster. Hopefully he's learned from his past mistakes, and realizes he has tens of millions on the line. He shouldn't cost too much in trade, due to past issues, and little team control left on him. I'd try to trade like a 4th OR 5th and someone like B. Thomas or B. MIller for Gordon. This way we open up a roster spot by trading a borderline 53 guy, and we lose a mid to late draft pick next year.

What have they proven that Thomas hasnt? From what Ive seen, Thomas has looked good when he has been out there, he also has the experience of having played guard and tackle. I wouldnt lump him in with Martin.

Cleveland is reportedly asking for a 2nd round pick for him. For a guy who gets an automatic 2 year ban the next time he goofs up.

My prediction
Kap - too slow on reads for this offense
Miller - position redundant in this offence
Pears - absolutely useless
Ellington - he is too puny and breaks to much.

Want in one hand and poop in the other, There isn't any team willing to trade that for him, just because of his history. He's absolutely worth it, if it was guaranteed he wouldn't mess up again, but there is no guarantees. Thus his value is down.

If they split the difference and talk him the Browns down to a 3rd - worth it?

IMO no. I think just like Aldon, its only a matter of time before he messes up again. And when he does, that is 2 seasons gone.
A 4th rounder+Bruce Miller and one of the rookie tackles would be fair I think but I doubt Cleveland accepts.

I would risk a 3rd for Gordon, but would be trying to trade other borderline 53 guys (like we did Acker) to try and recoup some value. Gordon would give us a game changer, and allow Torrey to go to the #2 WR where he belongs.

I also think that Trent is going to get another receiver or two after they get cut from other teams.
