No offense, but seems like you're projecting your own feelings onto Chip. Like, very hard.

First, this is not the first game of the preseason that Kap did this, just the first time media noticed it - so if Chip hasn't had problem with it before, why would he now ?
Second, I think it was not-so-subtly mentioned numerous times before that Chip has very little to none personnel power. Baalke calls the shots.

Yup, and we have seen how Trent honors chip's wishes. Eg, look at our draft. You may not be aware of this, but cable news just went national with Kap not standing during the anthem and his outspoken comments. If you don't think HC, GM and owner want this to cease, then ....well, we shall see. I look for good football reasons to be offered for kap's cutting or trade. This is not what any of those three gents want as the face of their team. He has made himself a persona non grata here, but will be fired or traded based on solid football reasons. He is, after all, a 4th string QB.

Anyone on the WZ that might know how this actually works....we can eat kap's salary once. Twice...that would really hurt. Need some legal eagle type....anyone know for certain? I had asked this in another thread and it never got answered.

Oh. Yet another potentially good thread ends up being about kap. Christ. Give it a damn rest.

It helps that the discussion the entire offseason was about the 49ers either trading or cutting him. It certainly wouldn't come out of the blue. I'm sure Chris Kluwe would be furious though.

Ok, AB...IF Kap is cut on Mon, we owe him the balance of $15 mil, perhaps a tad less. Right or wrong.?

Next, if he goes on 53 man squad, and he gets hurt in practice or home, we still owe him for this yr. But if he ends up on 53 or 46 man roster at yrs end, do we have any obligation to him in 2017?

The cutting of Simpson suggests that we might be making a move for a WR. Because I know Trent, the front office and everybody and their mama knows that what we have left is not cutting it in the NFL.

Simpson, Silberman, and Campbell are kind of surprising. At least for first cuts. I didn't expect any of them to make the 53.

It means that they want one of the younger guys to prove something in the 1st 4-6 games, or they see a potential cut from another team in the next couple weeks they plan to target. Either way, better to cut ties with a vet that struggles to beat out questionable youngsters early rather than late.
