DL coach Jerry Azzinaro, QB coach Ryan Day and WR coach Bob Bicknell are already expected to follow Chip Kelly to the 49ers.

Very nice start from my understanding.

Obviously a lot can change and we need to see who we land as DC. But this just made me think about how painful this time was last year with Tomsula trying to assemble a staff

That's the problem with guys like Chip and Tomsula...they don't have many, if any real NFL connections. The staff alone, can make or break any HC.

The fact that he's already replacing Brown as the DL coach may or may not be a sign the DC and rest of staff, may change too.

Stay tuned...
Bob bicknell named WR coach

The Eagles have had some very productive wide receivers during Bicknell's tenure.DeSean Jackson (who was actually involved in a verbal altercation with Bicknell during a Vikings game) had a great season in 2013 and Riley Cooper played at a surprisingly high level. In 2014, Cooper took a step back but Jeremy Maclin experienced a career year. Rookie slot receiver Jordan Matthews also burst onto the scene with a strong performance.

It's hard to say Bicknell will be missed. He reportedly clashed with former Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson, who allegedly cursed the coach out at one point. Philadelphia's young wide receivers didn't exactly flourish under Bicknell's watch.

We will see. DeSean Jackson's opinion doesn't count for much with me. Little guy is a prick... talented though.

Damn i thought Adam Henry would've been a better option.
Well the eagles qb's have played way better than they should have under those guys, their wr development has been phenomenal, and the dl coach reminds me of tomsula with his fire a little bit. (Say what you want, he was/is a great dl coach.)

So I can't complain.
Keep Tarver and Rathman for sure

If he cant find a DC because his network isn't big i'd rather have Chip hire from within and give that DC position to Tim lewis.

I was kinda hoping for Ray Sherman but I'm not discouraged with Bicknell. He understands Chip's system and did a pretty solid job overall with the eagles.
I bet they're keeping Mangini. Otherwise they are inhibiting the DC search by keeping his dline coach.

Chip has a much bigger network then did Tomsula its just that Chip's is presumably college. There are however a ton of fantastic college coaches out there and just haven't got a shot to showcase their abilities in the NFL yet. Then there are some thay have NFL experience on their resume.

I think the network thing sometimes gets a little overblown. Assitants come to work with coaches that they've never worked with all the time. It happens every year. Adam Gase is hiring a ton of respected coaches he has no experience with right now. Sometimes they each know somebody else who connects them or sometimes a head coach just has to be able to sell people on his plan for the team.

Stay optimistic, the staff building is still in its infancy.

I am beyond pumped for coach Az!!!! He will bring toughness back to the 49ers front.

"They have to play hard, that's the most important thing"

Chip already landed a guy for WR coach that Tomsula couldn't convince to be his OC. Chip is light years ahead of Tomsula in that respect.
