Isn't a question I can answer.
And this is why fans were getting on Kap for working on his body and speed. The NFL coaches primary job is to make sure the player knows the system and can apply the system. Yes, there are some fundamental things that are worked on but for a player to be fundamentally sound, they need to work on that themselves under extra time. And that doesn't mean go to a clinic for a month and that's it. That means stay after practice for the entire year to reapply and regroups those fundamentals you just learned during that monthly session.
This is the first year Kap has worked on his fundamentals on his own during the offseason. He is trying to put 4 years of fundamentals into three games and the failure from that is showing. NBA players work on strengthening one or two moves or aspects of their game per year.
Too bad Kap wasn't practicing to master little pieces of fundamentals throughout the years.
Just think, Luck has the MOST turnovers since 2014 and he supposedly is a 'cant miss' prospect! He's been in the same offense for 7 and still turns it over consistently! Kaep has 14 ints in 18 games and its because of his mechanics. yet for SOME reason luck gets a pass from the fans / our fans.
If Luck gets a pass, it may be because he has thrown for 45 TDs and 5500 yards in the same time span. When a quarterback is that productive, his turnovers are a little bit easier to swallow. I'm a big fan of Colin's, but I'm also realistic enough to know that he can only dream of putting up numbers like that.
You guys want to know the difference between Luck and Kap. Luck won't miss a wide open WR because of his footwork and staring at the receiver for a second and THEN throwing. That is the big difference.
Yes, Luck is making bad decisions but they are based on trying to make a plays rather than missing plays that are there to be had. If Luck had the receivers open as did Kap in last game, he would connect with them more times than not.
This is the FIRST offseason where Kap focused on training to be a QB rather than an athlete. And honestly, his primary focus this offseason was on how to review film. This kid has a lot of work but his priorities prior to this have been out of sequence.
I'm actually excited that he is trying to be a pocket QB in the games by going through his progressions. I just wish he would also practice good body base fundys. The only way this kid is going to learn to be a pocket QB is to fail at it so he knows what to do next time. From our experience with Kap, he does do a decent job at trying to fix his mistakes.
This is year one of a 3 year project for Kap to polish his QB technique. Not what we all want to hear but if he can do it, then the sky isn't even the ceiling for this kid. He can rocket into space because of his other abilities.

He has no trust in his throws. The receivers have to be completely wide open for him to pull the trigger. Doesn't help that alligator arms Vernon will not fight for a pass or that Boldin is getting slower every year. He needs to trust his reads and let it fly. Get the ball out quicker. I still see the long wind up.
That was very disappointing to me to see that. He definitely had that shorter delivery in the first game, but it seemed like when things started to fall apart the last game, he went back to that original delivery.
Hopefully, Green Bay is what he needs to get his act together.
His delivery comes with his footwork. In the first game, his feet were set better and wider. This allows him to deliver quicker because the distance he takes to step into the throw is shorter. This past game, he was nearly straight up on some plays which results in a longer step into the throw which leads to a longer wind up...like a pitcher starting his throw with feet together.
Unfortunately, when things go bad, Kap loses poise and completely loses his fundys.

No dreaming. I would want us to draft a QB next year, develop him old school style for a couple of years and if Kap turns it around, then we have a good problem.

I think a better word for it would be 'hoping.' People hope the light will turn on and he'll become what some of us thought he could be. I'm still there, but I admit it's getting a little harder to maintain that hope.

ITS A PASS DEFENSIVE LEAGUE NOW.
Coaches have responded to this Goodell F L regiment of illegal hits so naturally all you have is to play the pass.
Mining has a bad game -"looks old and retired."
Luck-" Upper office stress"
Carr-"injured hand"
little Hiyawatha Russell Wilson has a bad game-" Super bowl loss hangover."
Kap-"overrated."
Bottom line, you need a run game. Every decent team in the league has good corners that can cover. As for tackling....not so much.
My answer? Lets go back to the read option for a second. Keep them guessing. What better time than against Green Bay?.

Since Kap has been in the league, he has more playoff wins than Luck, Rodgers, Ben, and pretty much anyone else not named Brady, Flacco, Wilson or Peyton.
Luck puts up great stats partly because, well he is a good QB but also because he has never had a run game or defense so he chucks it 40 times a game. He is a turnover machine and I've seen him play just as bad as Kap on multiple occasions. He does not deserve a pass at all. Turnovers are turnovers and playoff wins are playoff wins.
Kap needs to regain confidence and start attacking these teams. Starts this Sunday vs Green Bay and last I checked, Dom Capers is still the DC over there and he has been clueless on how to stop Kap
