Yes, Luck is making bad decisions but they are based on trying to make a plays rather than missing plays that are there to be had. If Luck had the receivers open as did Kap in last game, he would connect with them more times than not.

This is the FIRST offseason where Kap focused on training to be a QB rather than an athlete. And honestly, his primary focus this offseason was on how to review film. This kid has a lot of work but his priorities prior to this have been out of sequence.

I'm actually excited that he is trying to be a pocket QB in the games by going through his progressions. I just wish he would also practice good body base fundys. The only way this kid is going to learn to be a pocket QB is to fail at it so he knows what to do next time. From our experience with Kap, he does do a decent job at trying to fix his mistakes.

This is year one of a 3 year project for Kap to polish his QB technique. Not what we all want to hear but if he can do it, then the sky isn't even the ceiling for this kid. He can rocket into space because of his other abilities.

so we have 3 years of suffering?

Yeah I heard him say that. Never really was ever interested in what he says about football anyway

I'm still with MikeD on hoping Kaepernick can rebound, but you may be right.

He has no trust in his throws. The receivers have to be completely wide open for him to pull the trigger. Doesn't help that alligator arms Vernon will not fight for a pass or that Boldin is getting slower every year. He needs to trust his reads and let it fly. Get the ball out quicker. I still see the long wind up.

That was very disappointing to me to see that. He definitely had that shorter delivery in the first game, but it seemed like when things started to fall apart the last game, he went back to that original delivery.

Hopefully, Green Bay is what he needs to get his act together.

Kaepernick doesn't have the luxury of sitting behind a great QB while learning from a Great QB guru...but he can learn and become a much better QB. I just hope he doesn't listen to all the noise and decide to abandon his new mindset before it can become ingrained.

LOL. This is not one game as has been said before. He's not progressing or getting better in the pocket and has not looked terrific much in the last 2 seasons. That's the argument. I think some of you need to worry less about other QB's and worry about our own.

It's his critics who constantly compare him to other QBs, I've provided examples that even those QBs need quality offensive line play, and when they didn't, their performance suffered greatly. Does anyone care? No. Kap is supposed to magically overcome what other QBs don't, not even the good ones. Look at Brady's stats under pressure. It's hideous. 100+ with no pressure, 50-60 under pressure. Now go ahead and tell me that poor offensive line play doesn't have anything to do with Kap's decline..

Does he need to clean up his mechanics and timing on throws? Absolutely. But I think people are overly critical of him. This is still a career 89.1 QB rating passer. That would rank him among the Top 10 of active starting QBs today, and ahead of many QBs that zoners gush over.. In 2 years this guy won more playoff games than many other QBs have in 10 years. He's working hard to make the right improvements to his game.

Not excusing Kap for his own mistakes, but before Sunday, things were looking up for him. That doesn't change after one game. Truth be told, I'm more worried about the offensive line than Kaepernick.

Exactly! Fans get caught up in truth vs reality and opinions vs fact. Here's an example: I think most would agree greatness is measured in playoff records and championships. It's why Peyton isn't considered the Goat because of his playoff performances. We also consider Aaron Rodgers to be great but the REALITY is he's been in the league 12 years, 9 as a starter and is 6-5 in the playoffs with 4 of those wins coming in one year. It's tough to win so when I see what our guy has done, playing in the Nfc west, when it's mattered the most im good with him.
Hopefully last week was just one of those ugly games that every QB has during the season. I don't expect him to bounce back and have some solid performances the rest of the season.

His delivery comes with his footwork. In the first game, his feet were set better and wider. This allows him to deliver quicker because the distance he takes to step into the throw is shorter. This past game, he was nearly straight up on some plays which results in a longer step into the throw which leads to a longer wind up...like a pitcher starting his throw with feet together.

Unfortunately, when things go bad, Kap loses poise and completely loses his fundys.
