lol... ok.
s**t with Kaepernick was always personal for some of yall. Wish yall would come out and stay out the closet with it, full time.
It wasn't personal with me before he acted like a butt wipe and disrespected the flag, the country, and the veterans who served,so that he would have a right to make an ass out of himself. As a fan I didn't like the trajectory of his career and how that affected the team. As a DAV I was appalled that the ignorant piece of crap chose to do what he did during the anthem. I support his right to protest anything he wants anytime he wants, but I also have the right and privilege to say what I think about it. It wasn't personal before, but it damn sure is now. I would like to think that when he disrespected the flag, the ceremony and by extension the active duty military and veterans of every race, Creed, and color who served this great nation, just to further his own personal agenda, he has incurred the disgust and dismay of a majority of the fans to which he owes his privileged and pampered existence. So yeah, it is personal with me now.
Not to mention he is miserable excuse for a QB.

I'm not saying I agree with what he did I just respect him that he had the courage to do it.
And, the bold is exactly what I was saying when you decided to be a douche about my comment.
Yeah but it's ridiculous for him to wait on his opinions until he becomes a Peyton Manning or Tom Brady, that's NEVER going to happen. He's probably never going to be more relevant than he is right at this moment. If he felt so strongly about this but decided to wait until his career was over because it might financially hurt him, that would be cowardly.

If a Socialist, like Sanders and a craps**t like Trump have legitimate chances to be the next US President, I would really think twice before stating such a comment like "great country".

We shouldnt let Kaepernick turn this QB competition, which he is going to lose, into a race issue.
Chip Kelly, Baalke and York will probably be targeted soon (online). Targeted online with accusations of racism. Gabbert being white and all. "White male privilege", as in white males being handed things above beyond people of color, is all over his twitter page.
Chip Kelly has already been accused of racism in the past.
As fans we need to help keep that sort of distraction from manifesting. We do this by focusing on football rather than Kaepernicks political red herring.
He is losing this QB competition because of his lacking pocket game, not because of his political views. He may be off this team in 2017 or sooner because of his poor play and contract, not because of his race or political views.
Most people don't want him starting because of his weak pocket game, not because they "hate" him as a person. Kaepernick could be a North Korean spouting Juche ideology and if he was passing like Montana I would have no problem with him starting.
He could be a zombie from the zombie apocalypse and if he passed like a top ten QB I'd want him to start and be our long term QB.
What matters, or what should matter to 49er fans is his play from the pocket. We shouldnt let him use this political stuff as a means to distract from the fact he lost this job because of his play.
This all sounds like the dying scream of a QB who is quickly becoming irrelevant on the field. A scream that has the potential to bring negativity to the locker room and organization. If we let it happen.

In speaking, Kaepernick was passionate, reflective, intelligent...in other words, what many people are always asking athletes to be.
Mina Kimes @minakimes
Kaepernick has taken an issue that's been turned into an abstraction and brought it home for people. it's extraordinary, really.
Melissa Jacobs @thefootballgirl
So impressed with Kap's explanation. (See @Eric_Branch's TL) Oozing with thought and genuineness. Not concerned with ramifications.
Matt Maiocco @MaioccoCSN
In 22 years of covering the #49ers, I've never experienced a more interesting hour in the locker room. Incredible stuff, really.
Matt Barrows @mattbarrows
That was probably the most fascinating open #49ers locker room session I've ever witnessed. Kaepernick spoke at length about his rationale..
... He said he's not sitting during national anthem to bash the military but made it clear he'll continue to protest. Wants to effect change
