Makes me wonder if he already realized his time in the NFL stage is about to end. Might as well use it to 'effect change' socially.

Why picked the anthem forum. He just doesn't realize how controversial it would be. It overshadowed the actual relevant issue. Could have easily pick another form of protest without alienating the rest of America.

Same with the team. Damn.

I do wonder if that is exactly what he wanted.....it has so very cleanly and neatly taken all focus off of how bad his play has become.

In speaking, Kaepernick was passionate, reflective, intelligent...in other words, what many people are always asking athletes to be.

Kaepernick has taken an issue that's been turned into an abstraction and brought it home for people. it's extraordinary, really.

So impressed with Kap's explanation. (See @Eric_Branch's TL) Oozing with thought and genuineness. Not concerned with ramifications.

In 22 years of covering the #49ers, I've never experienced a more interesting hour in the locker room. Incredible stuff, really.

That was probably the most fascinating open #49ers locker room session I've ever witnessed. Kaepernick spoke at length about his rationale..
... He said he's not sitting during national anthem to bash the military but made it clear he'll continue to protest. Wants to effect change

We're all behind these issues. Or should be. But none of you would do this in your boss' office in the middle of a work day.

You talk to the FO, you talk to your teammates and you ask for a private press conference. You ensure everyone is fully prepared for it.

Then you address your concerns publicly about your political concerns and don't answer any football questions. You keep it separate.

Or you do it on your own time and have your girlfriend or colleague interview you so it gets out in the media to large masses.

Like HOW he approached his own trade desire, he did it wrong, and at the expense of everyone with no care for consequences.

Germany accusing the US of this? Can you spell "H O L O C A U S T" ?
I am talking about today's Germany. TODAY means about 70 years later.
But hey, Germany is still under Nazi control, by your logic.

I would even bet that the US consists of more nazis than Germany does today. I mean, just spend a look at your prisons.

These are the sad consequences of poor choices and actions...or in this case, inactions.
Things are starting to make sense. Kap converted to Islam in the off-season. https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2016/08/27/controversy-erupts-after-nfl-quarterback-converts-to-islam-and-refuses-to-stand-for-national-anthem/
If kaepernick sees the field this year as a 49er it will mark the first time I've ever rooted for one of our players to be horribly injured. Don't like me saying that? It's my freedom of speech maybe cliff Avril can give him the Tony Romo back beaker tackle and take away his option to stand for the national anthem, I can dream.

Wrong thread.

No.1: because there arent enough jobs for your youth, so instead of reporting a huge unemployment rate, you can report a huge education rate
Wrong. if you are well-educated, i.e. learned the right profession at school or university, the probability for being employed is very high. Statistics show that for Germany.

No.2: Everyone would be insured here, too, if we didn't have to provide it for almost four times your population.
The one thing (having a large population) does not have necessarily something in common with the ability of providing a sufficient health system, insurance etc. ...if you are a rich country, I mean by almost any metrics you are, you can find this money. Every country in Western Europe is able to do so.

No.3: No, your country just destroys other economies in the EU.
No, it doesn't. Germany took advantage of its opportunities since the introduction of the Euro quite well, others like Greece or Portugal, did not.

No.4: That's the beauty of communism: if nobody acts against the party, you don't have to get violent.
the German system is not based on communism. Neither is the Swiss one (gun law is as liberal as yours, economy is very liberal as well). Yet, you do have a lot of violence in the society whereas Switzerland is very peaceful.

No.5: Again, 4 times your population.
Again, no. First of all, our "rich" people do pay way more taxes. Secondly, if your social security system works properly, you don't need so many prisons and cops.

No.6: You also don't have the world's poverty stricken trying to enter your country under the guise of a "better life." But I guess you can ignore the poverty stricken Islamic refugees coming into your country, increasing terror acts.
We got how many terror acts out of 1-1.5 Mio. immigrants for now? Two, each of them a little one? Wow, I'm shocked.
BTW, thanks for this problem. It is your "service" that brought chaos to Syria (i.e. uprising of ISIS), Lybia, Iraq and Afghanistan. Your strategy brought nothing than chaos.

Trump's been in the public eye for 30 years + and as soon as he runs for president as a Republican, he's automatically a racist.

Kap is just parenting Nessa BLM propaganda.

I used to be a huge fan of Colin Kaepernick. Now I want him off the team as soon as possible. Such a disgrace.
