But that wasn't a checkdown, Miller was the primary on the play.
The playcall was designed to make it easy for him, half field read, just drop back and throw. He had plenty of time, instead he just completely went Rex Grossman mode and said "f**k it, I'm going deep."

If he wants to act out & cause problems then he kills his own marketability for the future without us having to say anything bad about him.
All of that there. I'm really not getting folks who say just cut him, or trade him. Neither is best for the team. And I just cannot see Kaep doing anything to split the locker room if he cannot get his way. That would be disastrous for him and drastically lower his value when he becomes a FA. Besides, I just don't see that in his character.

Benoit didn't say anything that Greg Cosell and countless others haven't said. I'd say that Benoit is far more versed in analyzing game footage than a reporter like Maiocco or a blogger like BASG.
If you think that he is off-base, why not list what you think he is wrong about and provide examples to show how he is wrong, because to me, everything he wrote is right on the money and backed up 100% by what you see in the game film.
And then there is Kaepernick's poor understanding for why certain plays are called. Case in point: multiple times in recent years, the Niners have opened a game with a simple fullback flare pass to the flat. It's a play you call to get your QB comfortable and to put yourself in at least second-down-and-medium right out of the gates. There isn't a more basic concept in pro football. Unfortunately, Kaepernick, several times, has failed to pull the trigger on these throws, opting instead to kick off the game with a randomized, sandlot throw. That he's repeated this mistake more than once is baffling, especially considering that he threw an interception in this scenario on the first play of the Raiders game two years ago. (The Niners went on to lose that one.)
If a nearly four-year starting quarterback can't be trusted to even attempt—let alone complete—something like a fullback flare on the game's first play, then he can't be trusted. You can't construct, let alone perfect, a passing attack with such instability.
His analysis would presumes that he knew and knows what we do and did and he doesn't. He shows his bias by using phrases such as 'sand lot' and provides no evidence of the play calls it other than his memory. He's not on the ground in SF nor is he in the locker room on a day-to-day basis. Usually when a QB doesn't understand or know what they're seeing it shows up in turnovers and INTs. You can't fake your way through the NFL no matter how athletic you are. If the writer had ever shown any objectivity then I'd be inclined to listen but he's only ever shown bias. The BASG, blogger or not has been SPOT ON about things he's reported related to the team and has shown to know what he's talking about related to the. Maiocco is seen after ever game in the facility reporting on the team so that's why I trust them.

This play should be an easy throw to the fullback. Its setup to pick up some quick yards, get the QB off on a good start.
You see Miller breaking open fast.
Miller is wide open, Woodson is dropping back, the playcall was successful, this should be an easy gain. So now, WTF is Kaepernick doing still holding on to the football..........
Kaepernick inexplicably goes running to the other side of the field.
Boldin is well covered with the safety having deep coverage, Kaepernick tries to go to him anyways and throws the ball off of his backfoot.(bad footwork strikes again) Miller the intended target is just standing there watching him at this point on the other side of the field.
Result, INT. DENIED.
What should have been an easy 5 or 6 yard pickup is instead an INT.
At this point in his career, Kaep was ready to create his own offense. You just don't get national media recognition for doing nothing.

So pathetic. His flaws can't be fixed IMO.

He didn't inexplicably run left, there's a defender closing in on him. Now he could've checked down but he doesn't do that very often which we know and his combine scouting report says as much. Seeing Boldin 1-1 is a good read, the problem is when he moves left the safety does as well. If we hold the block it's a potential huge gain with your best WR one on one.

Which I think is what happened on that play. He was staring at the pass rusher and inexplicably took off on the run when he had plenty of time to fire it in to Miller and let him gain some quick yards.
Here is that play at full speed. You can see that Miller gets open quickly, Kaepernick instead of making a quick throw, takes off to where he has only one receiver and a safety over the top and still tries to gun it in there while off-balance, off his back foot. Not sure if this was ego or ignorance but just a poorly ran play by him.

He had all the time in the world to make that pass to Miller. No excuse for blowing that. If that is Rodgers, Russell Wilson, or most other QB's, that is a quick throw to Miller and a quick, easy pickup.

He could have even ran up in the pocket, the defender had actually fallen down, or he could have just thrown the ball away. Kap literally made the worst decision possible, lol.

We have seen this play on .gif in the all 22 game thread. He had time to make a quick decision and throw to Miller. But he held it too long, then got spooked by the DE. Abandon the play too quickly. Ran off and tried to create something by himself.
The play actually encompassed all the wrong of Kaep's game. Looking for the big play rather than an easy give me. Holding the ball too long. Run and abandon the play too soon. Running but not looking downfield as much while on the run. Looking to cut the field in half for better read any chance he gets.
