It is honestly what separates the men from the boys at the QB position, and I hope Kap gets there but right now he has never really turned that corner save for that playoff run in his first full season and I don't really feel comfortable making the guy a cornerstone of your franchise without at least flashes of that sort of ability. It is fine if you want to build around hard nose defense and a stellar run game...but if you want to be an aerial show, we need better.

Look I'm not going to argue that Cam doesn't have the ability to make a guy look better because he clearly does but Ginn is not the best example considering Cam didn't have many other options due to losing guys in free agency and injuries.

As for your second point about making him a cornerstone, I agree also. But again I ask, who else is out there that can be? What better options are there?

And why talk only about Brady to prove a point when there was numerous other qbs mentioned. What about James jones? Got cut from NYG, Green Bay picks him up, hes now dam near their go to guy.

Ted ginn on our team? Jack sh*t. Cam newton throws to him he's throwing up 10td plus this year.

The point remains, good quarterbacks make the wide receiver in most cases

Ginn is a terrible example. He only had half a season with Kap. A season where he was playing behind Crabtree who was having a career year, Manningham, and Moss. He then went on to put up 556 yards and then 190 before having a career year this year. A year in which he became the #1 receiver by default due to injuries and still hit less then 800 yards.

So if you're trying to imply that Ginn has been a good receiver but was hindered by Kap then you're completely utterly wrong.

And why are we comparing Kap to Brady? Kap is not elite nor is he getting paid like he is.

Coulda woulda shoulda. This is the bull sh*t I'm talking about. Your making up well if this didnt happen he woulda done this etc, but if anyone does that about your boy kap but talking negatively about him you go a-wall and freak out saying the same sh*t I'm saying. Being a hypocrite is contagious in this thread. I'm 100%real about any quarterback that is quarterbacking my favorite team.

Lets stick to the facts and not well If he had this OC or this guy instead or if he woulda had this instead. It's getting played out

Umm what? What did I make up? I said Ginn was like the number 4 receiver with Kap. What numbers did you expect the number 4 receiver to put up? Are you sure you meant to respond to me? I didn't say a single thing about a different OC or what he shoulda woulda coulda...

Ok if ginn was the #4 receiver on our team, then the argument needs to stop that kaepernicks never had people to throw to or true #1 receivers. Ginn is the #1 on Carolina and they are 15-1 so if he was our #4 we must of had some serious talent for kap to throw to .

And sometimes my qouted are fu*ked up lol cause I'm at the gym it's hard to look at what I'm quoting on the phone but generally I qoute someone I'm mainly responding to and then also respond to other people's posts because ill occasionally sit back and read for a while before responding

I don't understand why it seems like no one wants to give Kaepernick another chance

If our best option is to play Gabbert then I dont mind. I think Gabbert is better but its not like he's gonna take us to the playoffs or anything.

If we draft Goff, then I'd rather start him next year and trade Kap.

I've been a critic for two years and I wouldn't mind it. While I don't think he's taken a step in the right direction in the last two years, I wouldn't mind them giving him a shot at the competition next year. I would like to see Kaep, Gabbert, FA(Gabbert like signing), rookie battle it out in camp. If Kaep wins then he's the best man for the job.

Thing is, is that he has had no competition in the past. Everything has been handed to him on a silver platter. Maybe some competition would wake him up and light a fire under his ass.
Feelings are still hurt from them losing other guy. Kaep was part of the reason they lost the other guy(coaching decision)... The new guy is similar to the other guy. Now they want him to replace Kaep, so we can feel their pain of Kaep becoming the new other guy and they can finally begin the healing process.

Coaching staff made the decision, not the other guys fans. The fact that you even brought him up shows you are the one that hasn't let go. He has nothing to do with this thread. Please leave him out.

That used to be a put down, it no longer is. Kirk had an great year, over 4,000 yards, just under 70% completions, and over a 100 rating. Better than Kap's short time in the sun and all behind a lousy, injured O-line and poor running game.

I dont really care about giving him another chance. If we stick with him again next year its whatever because it doesnt look like we are getting goff.

The only thing I hate and is probably going to happen is the excuses that will just continue to flood in every season. Our teams not that good now. He should've been and should be our best player without a doubt and he hasnt been. So everyone just sticks to well we went to a superbowl and an NFC championship game with him so he has to be good! But the bottom line is our team was so freaking good during those years. We have only like 2 starters on defense from those years, and we lost 2 IMO really good O-lineman Iupatai and Davis. We upgraded our skill positions like WR and RB, but thats it. So we needed to rely on our WR's RB and QB to carry us this year and they did the opposite.

Therefore now people say well we just need to get back to where we were. Oh ok so lets just build another elite defense again like its easy. Find Another Harbaugh, and have a good enough offense so people dont complain Kaepernick has a bad O-line and bad weapons, and we also need this offense to be good enough to outscore other teams in January and beat top defenses, all in the next couple of years all while staying under the salary cap. Its alarming when people claim our quarterback needs THIS much help to be "good" again. Thats the biggest problem IMO. We shouldnt have to build an elite team for our quarterback to start throwing for 3.5k yards again and a decent TD/INT ratio. FYI he still hasnt put up more yards or TD's than Mark Sanchez has in a season yet look where sanchez is. Oh No wonder cause Sanchez rode an elite defense to back to back AFC games with an elite run game.

The bottom line, when or if we give Kaepernick another chance next year, its going to turn into the dominoes effect. Oh well he needs this next year, OK he now needs this, Ok but because we got that last year we need this now, and year after year we willbe wasting on this guy. I get some people like him and thats cool. But jeeze for how bad Kap and Gabbert were this season and how Kap regressed since 2013, theres no reason we shouldn't be looking at qb round 1. And why disagree or hate on that if we did get a QB round 1? If kaps as good as good as u or anyone claims he is, then he should be able to beat out anyone we draft. Why are people here so afraid of him having competition if you think hes so good? ?

If the Mods ban people for talking about/ bring up Kap in the Alex Smith thread under the NFL forum, they should ban people for whining about Alex Smith in this thread just because Alex Smith is leading his team to the play-offs this year again and kap is done and possibly on his way out of the NFL.

FYI, Alex Smith, IS NOT A 49er ANYMORE, you can stop whining about him, cry babies

If the 49ers keep kap for 16+ million after 4/1/16 he'll be with a 3rd head coach. Not many QB survive and improve after a 3rd head coach (with the same team) coming off a unimproved bad season and injuries also and the big money "starter" contract. Furthermore, the 49ers are in full rebuilt mode now going 5-11 and now drafting at 7th overall as well (they might draft a QB of the future in the 1st round, there would be no room for kap then).

Keep those things in mind.

No $#it! I'm good with the situation however it shakes out as long as we are winning games. I left his name out because he doesn't have anything to do with this thread other than his fans that are still bitter. Like you said the coaching staff made the decision...

What does Alex going to the playoffs have to do with anything... I'll be rooting for him since my team is out btw. I brought him up in a past context in regards to some of our fans... Not everyone was around on the zone then, so I basically summed it up for them from my perspective.
