Would be a bad move to trade him, I say let him sit a few games and while gabbert is stinking it up give kap another shot to play.

If we can get a backup for Blaine somewhere I'm totally OK with trading Kap. With the Bye coming up after this week there's really only one game that we'd be at serious risk of not having a ready backup (Falcons game).

Josh Johnson on a team lol

If that happens Baalke get's a only issue is Wilkerson is a FA.

I think the Jets would be a good spot for Kaepernick. Good receiving targets, good run game, solid defense, a tough but player friendly head coach, he could do far far worse.

It would be the best possible landing spot for him at this point, but not gonna happen.
Time is running.

While Kaep doesn't appear likely to be traded today, multiple teams are interested in potentially acquiring his services down the road.

Their smart to wait until after the season. But I don't they should cut him until they can secure a starting QB. As much as I want him benched now, he's still talented and maybe just needs the solid coaching staff to coach him back. It seemed Harbaugh knew how to navigate Kaep......Tomsula does not.

Makes sense. Kaep was a Super Bowl starter. There's no way I would take anything less than a 2nd for him. Never had a serious injury.

Yeah but they have to cut him in April, so can they really dictate the terms that much?

If somebody offers you a 2nd you take it, but if he isn't in the 49ers plans going forward the team isn't going to hang onto him and keep paying him starters money.
If teams are interested him after this season, there is no way we put him back on the field to risk injury.

Yeah he will have so pretty good value in the off season and I think you could get more for him (if they go that route) after the season.

he has a team friendly contract, I wouldn't ask for anything less then what we trade Alex Smith for.

ITA with this. Teams know it's not a money issue and they're getting a bargain and won't have to deal with big legacy contract. This not only worth a high pick but pickS.

Nobody is giving the 49ers pickS to pay a bad QB 12 million next year. They probably get 1 pick

For the record, Kaepernick is not arrogant. I've been told withdrawn, shy. But not arrogant.
they should have him play RB for us instead of QB he can run !
