the runs don't have to work to start. they'll work in the end be patient, stick with it period.

its because the pass rush is light the linebackers are light so they can fly around and cover their zones.
the defense is designed to get the rushers up the field so you don't have time to make a good pass and they capitalize
run at them and have the safeties get involved (especially thomas who is the best safety but also very little size wise)

every time we beat seattle under harbaugh after the 1st season, was because we committed to running the football regardless of who was under center.

1st season ginn saved us and then in the 2nd game i forget what happened
No I was wrong we won up in SEA. We ran but VD got plays off play action. SEA broke our 100 yd rusher streak and rushing TD stat. It was Christmas and we escaped off a deep completion to set up Akers and we wished them a merry Christmas. That was the game I knew SEA was about to catch us

It was one of those games I just knew they'd lose. They were going with the odds all game long...field goals instead of going for short yardage on 4th down inside the five, and seemed so risk averse that they let Seattle back into the game. Carroll tends to keep taking chances--though he had no choice.

The one knock I had on Vic Fangio was that he tended to let up as well. I don't think you can afford to lose aggression early in the game...maybe last half of the 4th quarter but not late in the 2nd quarter!

Great interview providing a lot of insights. Sounds like Geep is kept for continuity. The offense play call language is rooted in WCO. Logan sounds like he's very flexible and likes to adapt to new ideas.

I think logan is the best hire we made by far.

not really, colin is the most important player. so his hire should have been the best we made. we go as he goes.

i don't see how you got that from the link provided. it sounded like this was the perfect storm in order to get him back into coaching. like if it was tomsula with kap wit this talent and this type of offense he would keep his cushy gig that he had. he might not have been working but he wasn't a bum on the street either. he had a cushy job analyzing and could do that for the next 25 years if he wanted to.

This is the hire I am most excited about. I think he will do a good job getting Kap sticking to consistency in his fundamentals. Logan has developed some solid NFL QBS.
I remember Logan well when he was the coach at East Carolina in C-USA. He was known as a "Riverboat Gambler." His ECU teams were known for many trick plays, fakes, and going for it on 4th down.

Agree and am so looking forward to a faster, more creative offense with a Kaepernick who is held to account, even when successful. When he screws up the blocking because he takes off too soon Logan is going to see that and point it out. He will also point out when CK is throwing off his back foot...even if it's a TD. I love his no nonsense way of speaking. This could be really great for out dynamic QB!
