The Logan Zone - New San Francisco 49ers QB Coach

Maybe Marcus Crandell as an offensive assistant? He was Logan's QB during the only season in his career he had a ranked team (#23). Had a pretty good CFL playing career and he has been a coaching up in the CFL since 2009.

He comes across as a very smart and knowledgeable guy. An Xs and Os type. Just hope he connects to Colin and can help him improve.

This guy seems much smarter than our head coach, defensive coordinator and offensive coordinator.

So I am supposed to be excited for a guy who has been working for a sports radio show?

i'm most fascinated by this hire. this guy is far from clueless. i hope his knowledge translates to positive things on Offense.

Like I said in the other thread, if you think his comments are something ground-breaking, than you haven't been paying much attention. He's far from the first to make these suggestions and I guarantee that the previous coaching staff very well understood the exact same things. EVERYONE knows how to beat the Seahawks, their defense is very predictable, however knowing how to do it and actually DOING it are two entirely different things.

You can plan for a month but once you go out there and the first receiver or tight end gets destroyed by Kam Chancellor and you've got Bobby Wagner flying around all over the field, s**t gets real pretty fast.


They run one of the simplest defensive schemes in the NFL but they execute better than anyone else and that's really the difference and why beating them is so tough and why the best offensive minds in the NFL have struggled to do much of anything against them. You can be extremely predictable in the NFL, but if you execute at the highest level, you'll still win out.


Logan may even be a great coach but he sounds just like any other grizzled old guy they throw on to a myriad of sports radio stations across the country who can breakdown game tape but were never all that incredibly successful in their own careers. Talking and doing are two different things, if Logan can help Kaepernick to improve and be a more consistent passer, then that is all that anyone could ever really ask for. And even if he does a bad job at it, he can still get promoted to OC in the near future.

I still say that if it were my team I send guys out to hit Kam and Bobby whenever I can. Blow em up and take the action to them instead of roaming over the middle with fear. Lay fools out and take out some kneecaps! WRs and TEs can hit too!
