Why the f**k did we hire this f**k as the TE coach last year in the first place?? VD has his worst season ever under this f**k.

Is that a sign of things to come with our defensive players?

No he was with Baltimore. And i am going to go out on a limb and say John recommended to Jim he hire him as his DC.

Right...he went out of the league to coach a College team because he wasn't being sought as a DC IN the league.

more power to you if that now that Mangini is the DC you can look past his history and try to compare him to the previous coach. I just cant be that guy. I cant look past his history even if he is our DC now.

The Yorks are structuring the team along the lines of Al Davis, not Eddie DeBartolo. All the power is at the top, and the coaches are just expected to be good soldiers and do their jobs. Tomsula will be the weakest HC in the NFL. Baalke has all the power and Tomsula is surrounded by guys who have more knowledge and experience than him. He's not a Head Coach, he's a project manager. This is pretty much the opposite of the way every other team in the NFL is structured. I won't say it can't work, but the prospects are not good.

He makes his teams better. He went to Ny and CLE with bad teams. Made the defense better

Im with you. I very much wanted Vic to stay as well for continuity and i knew the offense was getting a complete overhaul and didnt want to have the whole team in a staff overhaul but here we are.

All i wanted to show people was have faith in the hire and that while Mangini might not have set the world on fire neither did Fangio before landing here.

Regardless of how bad we have been in the past we have always had a D that played hard and gave us a chance even though it didn't pan out. The talent on this defense is awesome

Also, like it or not he is the DC. I can get behind it or complain. I have enough other stuff to worry about so ill just get behind it

VD was injured all year.

I like how people just directly assign a coaches value to how his players did in his most recent season. Is the Saints TE coach a genius? No, Jimmy Graham is really good.

Honestly, just about any coach could look good with the 49ers D. We have like 7 pro bowl caliber players starting.

Harbaugh hired him in 2013 to self-scout the offense, then moved him to TE coach last year. Good question for Harbaugh.

It was a sign that Jim Harbaugh was completely clueless on what made up a good passing game offensive coach.
