Cully all day. I thought Cox got worse as the season went on.

By Week 6, Cox was a potential pro bowl candidate... but then just tailed off.

If Cully keeps improving he could be our #1 CB.

Cox and Brock have #2 CB talent.
he was are #1 CB before he got injured for a season
yup. during the SB season cully was almost lights out, i think passer rating against was less than 55 if i can remember... theh he got hurt, and now he is killing it again.

people that dont like cully put too much emphasis on one bad game and that one bad tackle (attempt) vs. st. louis.

id go as far as saying that over the course of the season cully has been one of our top3 defensive players
just dont tell him that, im hoping we can sign him at a mid level deal- for a top level corner

There's something about a player that has one really good season and it happens to be during the season that he is about to hit free agency that always makes me cautious. Talking about Cox. I like him and and am trying to not get into the tactic of talking down a player to prop up another player, but across all sports, I'm leery of this tendency to excel during the year before free agency. Cully has 2 solid seasons to his resume while Cox has one half of pretty much all pro level play as he was ballin the first half of 2014.

I feel the same way. If I had to choose between the two, Culliver. But, I wouldn't pay either top money.
neither will get top money imo, i,m just not sure we have enough to sign both as both will want #2 corner money
Cox. Culliver is a moron. Even all things equal I would take Cox because he does not spew garbage to the media.
but allthings are not equal. not even close to equal. cully has been a monster in man coverage. kid played at pro bowl level imo - had another season where he looked better than patrick peterson in press man

Coaching got him to where he is now. He had some bad habits that needed to be broken, that's why he was a mid-third rounder. This coaching staff has gotten stellar play from a bunch of so-so DB talent through great coaching.
I don't think either of these guys will be back if Fangio leaves as has been reported, If Gase is hired as HC. I liked them both but I think Cully, eventhough he is bonehead, has more upside to him.

Why aren't the Niners trying to sign either one? I get not paying Culliver $8 million a year, but why not try to keep Cox? He played at a near Pro Bowl level most of last year and they don't even have an offer on the table. WTF?
