McDaniels is kind of crazy, but I still like him.

It's like that crazy chick in college at the parties. Fun and promising at first, but BAM herpes 2 months later.

Yeah, as an OC.
"Of course he has what it takes," Broncosreceiver Emmanuel Sanders told The Denver Post. "Whatever happens, he'll do what's best for him and his family. If he does, that would be sad for me, but we've still got goals that we want to achieve together. Hopefully if it does happen, he'll go to one of those jobs with aSuper Bowl ring on his finger."

Added running back C.J. Anderson: "I know whoever gets him, they're going to get a coach who is very smart. He knows the game very well. He's determined. He has that '(heck with) you' attitude. Let's get out there and get it done. He's the type that puts his hard hat on every day and goes to work."

I'm not so sure about that. Fangio is a real straight shooter not only with his players but the media as well. And the bottom line is HIS players respond to that. Obviously the semantics would need to be figured out... who his OC will be, would he still game plan for the defense, call plays on game day, etc. But I'm really starting to warm up to this idea. This FO knows him very very well and STILL met with him for 6 hours. They also met with him first.

Eh that kind of thing gets leaked all the time. Coach X met with Team Y for X hours and was super impressive. I wouldn't put to much stock into it.

I'd think for Baalke alone, 6 hours would be minimum. Several meetings for others. Remember how much he and Harbaugh met for? Continuing to meet even in the dark to talk philosophy?

This. Just like right before the draft, dont trust a lot of what youre hearing, teams loving use smokescreens. When stuff like that is released, it could even be true, but it could also be done to try and build leverage, to convince a highly coveted coach to sign commit faster because "we have options"...etc

Bring on. Shanny n son

Never going to happen.

It could if Mike is HC. Not going to happen the other way around though.

I guess it could also end up :

"Head Coach" - Kyle
Senior Offensive Consultant - Mike

Seems I wasn't clear earlier so I'll try again:

Mike Shanahan is NOT going to accept ANY position that involves "working" for his son, paper title or otherwise. The man has simply accomplished way too much over his career to even entertain the idea. In fact, I would bet money that even asking him something like that would result in him immediately getting up and walking out of the room.

As he should.

Might be the only way for his kid to get out of Cleveland at the moment. And I would be inclined to agree about him not taking anything less than a Head Coach position in any scenario, except with his own son. I think Kyle is the only one he might be willing to take that backseat paper title role for, where he could help groom him and still coach and teach.

Very true!

A philosophy that he grew tired of after 2 seasons

There simply is not an OC out there to hire as HC that i feel has the Fangio level of experience. And defense wins games, even in an offensive league (Seattle? 2011,2013 49ers?)

My prediction: They go with Fangio and a good OC -- We' win a SuperBowl right away, this season (15/16)

Our problems are on offense. So we make Fangio HC and hire a young position coach or a retread OC to fix the problem for the next 10 years. A lot people on this site just believe that the cure to our problems the last four years on offense is to make f*gio or Tomsula the HC. Why not go for the best young offensive minds now when we have a chance Gase, McDaniels etc. We have great personnel on defense if f*gio wants to be stupid enough to leave for another DC job then bye. I never liked it that he never wanted to play the young guy until he had to this year. Give the job to Donatello or Tomsula even Leavitt. That's better than a defensive HC trying to get a OC. Fangio might can't get his first choice. Dirk Koetter has all kind offers out there, so who do we get some defensive HC second or third choice. Rex never got it right. The major problem is OFFENSE.

Let me ask you this, do you think Gase just sits on the sidelines or in a booth with a headset on just asking Peyton Manning "OK, what do I do next huh"??

You guys really think it's ALL Peyton Manning, knowing game time situations, players personnel on the field and game planning or scripting plays has nothing to do with Gase??

Seriously, there's a reason Adam Gase is being interviewed by every head coaching needy team, I'll give you a hint, it's not because you think Peyton Manning developed him!! Unlike most posters on here, GM and team owners can call and get some serious back ground info on him and not just speculation.
I want to look at Helfrich from Oregon...QB teacher, level headed, winner. Only 40, but still young. He can be the OC for a couple of years, then HC. Just a thought. Just have a good feeling about him.
If our FO does not have the knowledge of personnel to at least interview Kubiak, I have serious doubts about their ability to accurately obtain the best hire. However, out of the people interviewed I would say the best fitting top 3 in order seem to be Fangio, Shanny, and Gase. I think as long as Fangio is able to hire a situationally aware OC who understands this offense's strengths we'll be better off than with Roman. I think Shanny and Gase would drastically improve our offense but could come at the cost of alienating and losing Fangio.
