Are you seriously trying to imply that we won the Eagles game because of Frank Gore alone?

I'd think long and hard about the answer...

Dude... quit posturing for the masses. Really, it's not impressive.

I would never say we won or lost games just because of one person. I am one of a select too-few on here that understand that football is a TEAM game. It was you with that initial question that forced that obvious question from me.

Nobody was posturing for anything... Dude. It was an honest question. Gore (and to a lesser extent Hunter) destroyed their wide-9 technique.
Most valuable players last year (based on value to our team winning; not how good or talented they are).

1) Justin Smith -- Bulldozer
2) Aldon Smith -- Wrecking ball
3) Patrick Willis -- Foreman
4) Frank Gore -- Workhorse
5) David Akers -- Points
6) Vernon Davis -- Threat
7) Andy Lee -- Field position
8) NaVorro Bowman -- Production
9) Carlos Rogers -- Veteran savvy
10) Michael Crabtree -- Leading receiver

Dude it's all good monster, one day we will actually understand football and this will all make sense.

In the mean time, thank the lord Jesus we have smart people here on this forum who already understand football who can point out the errors in our shallow, ignorant arguments.

No one is even asking you to put your faith in what we the fans think. How bout just giving this guy Jim Harbaugh some fu**ing credit, could ya?

For those of you arguing over Smith's worth this season, Harbaugh left no doubt what he thinks of his starting quarterback. "People that know football and understand the game appreciate Alex Smith as a very talented quarterback," Harbaugh said.

A) the same Jim harbaugh who flew to North Carolina to try and sign Peyton Manning?
B) the same Jim harbaugh who tried to sign Matt Hasselbeck last offseason?
C) the same coach who let Alex smith test the free agent market this season...a risk he wasn't willing to take with Ahmad brooks or Dashon Goldson?
D) the same coach who let his GM offer a measly 9 million dollars guaranteed to AS, 1 million less than Matt Flynn got who isn't even guaranteed a starting job?

Actions speak louder than words.

Just my opinion, but the drop off from Justin Smith(arguably the best defensive player in the league last year) to RJF(solid backup, depth guy) is much greater than the dropoff between Alex Smith to CK.

We're a team that wins by playing great D and ST while limiting turnovers on offense.

Anyone else see the this? Some of you guys that vote having lost Justin Smith dont realize that he is a luxury to our defense, he is not a necessity. Our defense still acts and functions like a top 3 defense in the NFL without him. He basically just puts us over the top in terms of dominance.

Now, without Alex Smith, do you still see us 'limiting turnovers' on offense? Do you think CK will throw for only 5 ints in a season like Alex did?

Give me a break ..

Hey man, Harbs just said last week that Crabtree has the best hands he's ever seen! Ever!! We should always take what Harbaugh says at face value.

Lol a luxury? He's the best 3-4 DE in the league. There is no way our defense is elite as it is without the Cowboy.
This is simple:

If you are a honest person then a simple question will answer this for us all.

You go to Vegas and have to bet your salary on the Niners against say any playoff caliber team.

Thing is 1 starting player is out: Any of you really gonna tell me or anybody else that the biggest blow wouldn't be if Alex didn't start the game?

Or better yet, who do you think the opponet would rather sit or miss a game? (did someone really have Crabs in the top 3?)

Don't give me any touchy feeley crap, cause you all dam well know what the answer is and always is for any team in the NFL (the starting qb, PERIOD)

This stuff is really starting to turn into a joke.

I record everything harbaugh says in my family bible in addition to tattooing it on my shaft. Whether I'm praying or fapping, I'm always thinking about how Alex's eliteness as well as crabtrees HOF worthy hands. No homo

We are NOT a top 3 defense without Justin Smith. Do you recall how our defense looked when he was off the field this past season? It was not a pretty sight....
Our defense was a bit off in the Cowboys game without Dashon Goldson back there. Willis missing time allowed Lynch to run for 100+yards etc but our team doesn't really have one key guy that makes it run. We have pretty decent depth as well in case of sudden injuries. Strong from one end of the field to the other, and that's a good thing!

This is clearly an Opinion. Our efficiency would dip at first but lets be real, it wasn't our offense winning us games last year.

It's gotta be Justin and Aldon Smith IMO. They are so good at what they do and we rely on our defense soooo much. Without a good pass rush were back to a middle of the pack D and a likely 8-8 record.

i agree with justin but not aldon. when justin got ejected the year before last our team fell apart especially on the D-line. hes a silent leader out there.
