Ryan's co-host, Pat Kirwin, suggested that Rogers receive a five-year deal worth about $7 million a season.

Wait, is that ALL he said about Crabtree? If so that isnt criticizing him at all. Its more of an insult to the other WR's if anything.

If it's for 5 years, I would hope no more than $7 million a year, unless they wanna go 4 years and pay him $8-$9 million a year. Then again, isn't the guaranteed money all that really matters in the end?

This gets my vote for worst misconstruing of a players words ever. Not once did he say Crabtree has a long way to go, in fact he praised the guys abilities. I would expect more from a veteran!!!

Yea that comment comes off as jealousy and frustration. He did the same thing here in DC when the Skins paid Shawn Springs and Deangelo Hall. Basically he was on local radio here in DC beefing b/c Hall got paid and he didn't. Even if you think that no need to be on radio talking down on a teammates salary. In 2009 when he was due to be a unrestricted free agent he got tendered due to the rules before the CBA expired. Thus he feels he really missed his pay day from another team. Only way he signs for 7 million a year is b/c no team would pay him more. Or the length of the contract could be a issue. I can't blame him for wanting top dollar I'm just not sure he will get here.

It might come down to who the Niners think is more valuable---Rogers or a WR free agent. And who they could draft to pick up the slack. They obviously think the pass rush is a priority with the Brooks signing.

it sounds more like hes saying its a good thing val, i know where u might interpret it as he didnt get enough but how he sounded and he didnt say it "well u gotta get what u can get" he meant more like get the highest value you can get, hes a big time player blah blah.. just mo tho

Yeah I thought the same thing. A veiled way of saying he didn't think Brooks was worth it? Maybe just jelousy that Brooks got signed before he did.

haha agreed.. pass rush is gonna make a CB look great. hurrying up the QB leads to bad throws which leads to easier blocked passes/ interceptions and isnt carlos 31? i could see a 20mil 2 year deal or 18 mil 2 year deal pop out from our front office tho, but that says bye bye to FA WR

Some don't want to believe but Crabs IS a #1 talent. He just needs a complimentary guy like Harper was for Irvin.

Probably because of the implication that Harper was nothing without Irvin while JT & TO were legit superstars on their own.
