Anyone find that a bit strange? Maybe I am reading into it.
I'm thinking Rogers thought Brooks could have got more
Nah I think he's surprised he got that much money lol. I think he's thinking some of that should've gone to him. He said "get what you can get" in other words "get as much as you can".
Yeah, I interpreted it the same as you Willis...f**k, lol, he's probably thinking he's going to get a $12 mill/season dead now...lol
I'd be happy to keep Rogers for anything south of $9/year
Same, about 9 per year is my limit. We still gotta re sign Goldson and Alex, re-sign Snyder or fill that RG spot, and CR himself even admitted we could use another WR. We aint going to get all that done paying him 11-13 mill per year. No way in hell. He had an awesome year but we can't lose other guys to keep him around.

really carlos, not a smart move on your part even though it was an honest statement
you criticize crabtree and you are the FA.

The only thing working against Rogers is his age. Sure, pay him the money at 31 or 32, but afterwards? I'm sure the NFL has charts tracking productivity to the players age. It's just a bad investment long term, short term signing him is a no-brainer. The numbers circulating are 7 million per, I'd rather see the 49ers give that money to a proven receiver.

Was watching CSN Bay area and Matt Maiacco said Carlos Rogers thinks of himself as an elite CB and wants to get paid like one. Asomougha signed a 12 mill per year contract with the Eagles, if Rogers wants that he can gtfo in my opinion.
I dont think he'll be back.

I thought it was weird but he could have also been laughing at the fact he wasnt signed first

Crabtree in year 4 better prove me right!!! He is my favorite receiver in the NFL, obviously being a 49er homer... But the talent is there, he needs to put in the extra work in the off-season, get some timing in with Alex, and work on his speed!!! I dont know if Crabs is a clear cut #1 play making WR, but his rookie year he did show glimpses of a game changer when we threw the ball at him... I'd like to add a burner, but I still believe Crabs needs to be targeted around 10 times a game, I think he was only targeted 8-9 times combined in both playoff games...
I expect Crabs to average 5.4rec 70yds 0.5td in 2012... thats a pace of 86rec 1,120yds 8td

Agreed, hopefully Rogers remembers how recently he was an unwanted stone hands CB. He can say what he wants about Brook's deal but 3-4 OLB like him are needed by a LOT of teams. If Brooks had hit the open market I guarantee you he would get more than Rogers based on the fact that there are almost no decent OLB's in FA this offseason.

I don't think Rogers comes back uless he is willing to take a pretty large paycut vs. what he thinks he deserves, from what i have seen the Niners seem to be paying extra special attention to CB's in the draft.

Sounds like he thought Brooks would get less. "Get what you can get" is something you tell someone who just ripped off someone else.

Yep came off as a little jealousy to me, but he tried to brush it off with a compliment.
