Rob Rang shared his 'wisdom' on the future of Aldon smith and Robert Quinn

Back in April, The draft 'guru' Rob Rang shared his insights on the possible development of Robert QUinn and Aldon Smith. I guess i overlooked this because its already winter time and I'm just now reading these quotes. Anyways, I thought I'd share this with any others who may also find this interesting...Rob rang said the following after the 2011 draft ended. "I would have taken Gabbert and potentially Robert Quinn over Aldon Smith at seven," Rang said. Quinn went to St. Louis at No. 14. "To have Chris Long on one side as your base end and then have Robert Quinn's explosiveness on the other side, I mean, he reminds me a little bit of Leonard Little, but bigger," Rang said. "You watch, Robert Quinn is going to be a better player for the Rams at 14 than Aldon Smith will be for the 49ers at seven." I wonder if Rang is starting to feel like an idiot now.

Still early in the process check back in 3 years. But the draft is a crap shoot, nobody knows for sure who is gonna be good.

Anytime one of these "experts" makes a statement like that, I completely disregard it. I laugh when they say Player X will be better Player Y as if it were a fact. Truth is, these guys have no idea who will be good and who won't be. Their opinion is no better than anyone else's.

or even if it were 100% fact (playing hypothetical here) theres still many things that can affect productivity, bad scheme, injuries, piss poor coaching, 10 s**tty teammates around you, lots of variables

I liked Wragge and Dahl as backups. Heck, Wragge would probably be starting instead of snyder. No knock on snyder but wragge was solid for us.
