Yeah the guy that WON 3 SUPER BOWLS and at the time at least built the BEST STADIUM in the world. That all the modern stadiums are based on. With one of the highest valuations of any major sports franchise.

Who would want that guy? If you could have losers like the DORKS?

If you are pushing Jerry Jones as being the ideal owner and wishing we had him you have no place here. Or pretty much any fan club except Dallas.
We were just talking about this on here the other day.

This just explains more how we are always reaching. It doesn't matter what grade the 49ers had him. It only matters that they pick him sooner and have him graded higher than the other teams.

There's no way that your going to have 31 teams graded him as a no draft and then draft him in the third round. Pretty much every player is going to be graded within 3 rounds of each other every draft by the teams.

So there's no need to reach that badly on any player.

So, what are you saying about Purdy now? His draft position is completely irrelevant now, as was Tom Brady's. To use this pick as justification for accusing the team of always reaching is just fatuous. From the way he has played a first round pick would have been justified.

And by the way, your comment about every player being graded " within 3 rounds of each other every draft by the teams" is a bit convoluted. If you are saying that every team should draft every player within 3 rounds of every other team's estimation of when they will be drafted, I just dont accept that.

Lol, what? You mean Jimmy Johnson built that team.

Exactly, Jimmy Johnson built those 90's Cowboys' teams and trained them so well that they won a Super Bowl after Jerry Jones fired him.

Oddly enough that was the last time the Cowboys sniffed a Super Bowl. The past 30 seasons show who deserves the credit for that 90s era.

Yep. Never clear to me why - aside from his giant ego - Jones sacked Johnson. And replaced him with Switzer! And stayed on, making sure that they had no future after that last gasp.
Glad to have Jed York as the principle owner of the 49ers. He has made mistakes and learned from those mistakes.

When you find the right football people, get out of the way and let them do their jobs. I mean, hold them accountable, but let them do their jobs.

There are some things to hold the regime accountable for that do not add up to firing the football people currently running the show.

Jed has shown patience and I think his patience will end up being rewarded with more Lombardi trophies by this regime before all is said and done.

Yeah I don't get this mentality that you should only draft players at the value that every other team values them at. We hire GMs, scouts and other FO people to be smarter than the rest of the league, otherwise might as well save money and draft according to Mel Kiper's board

Reality is, nobody knows for sure where other teams have a guy graded at.

And that's the point! Drafting would be a damned sight easier!

Praise Jed when he actually hoists the trophy. He has done nothing to earn the love of the fan base. He is not his uncle. Not even close. He is someone who should not be seen or heard. His uncle will always be loved, and respected. The little York just doesn't measure up. Is that fair? Probably not but it's true.
