WE DO NOT BELONG IN THE PLAYOFFS THIS YEAR.
and i hope we lose the next 2 games, get a new coach, draft a QB, and some secondary help!!!!
So yeah, i must be silly
Well the last time we got what you are hoping for it was the Nolan/Smith package. That worked out great, didn't it? You never know how our new coach and QB next year will pan out (whoever they might be), so might as well hope for the best this year. So yeah, you are silly.
bring in an experience winning coach and it sure as hell couldn't get any worse. or how about getting lucky in the draft and getting that high pick and drafting "that" QB to turn the franchised team around like a Bradford.
Rams are a less talented team on paper but what did bradford do for them this year!
this year has already tanked, we need to prepare for 2011-2012!!!
Even if we lose out, we're not getting A. Luck. So "that" QB will have to be someone with question marks. "That" QB could be a Bradford or a Ryan just as easily as it could be a Russell or a Smith. I still want what you want, I just want to get there as a playoff (deservedly or not) team. At this rate, it could be a while until we get another chance at the post season.
Hold on... who said Bradford was a success?!?! He has a 75.9 passer rating, hasn't thrown a single touchdown and has thrown a interception in nearly every game he has played in this year. He's just like Alex Smith this season, maybe three good games under his belt this season, rest are either horrible or mediocre. The Rams are 6-8 with the same level of talent as us. I'm not speaking of you when I say this Vaniner but these idiots who want use to lose out so we will have a better shot at getting an unproven quaterback who at this point has shown no signs that he will be entering the NFL draft.
If anyone thinks a few draft picks and a new head coach will solve this teams issues you are highly mistaken, you can't clean up 10 seasons of mess in one offseason.
Not a lambs fan or Bradford fan at all but if ur gonna talk trash do it right.. he's much better than Smith.
Bradfords stats:17TD's to 14 INT's and just over 3000 yards.
you did get the passer rating right tho
and the lambs level of talent isnt nearly as good as ours it just looks that way because they do have a good QB
I never quoted his 17tds and 14ints (that is a horid td to int ratio btw and just proves my point), his stats and nothing else proves his talent and at this point he is no better than Alex. His team is 6-8 and about to lose sunday to an Alex Smith lead team and get their playoff spot ganked.
i put that stat up because you said he hadnt thrown a single touchdown. which is just plain wrong. Saying hes thrown and INT in neary every game is also wrong. he has had several w/o one.
keep in mind he is only a rookie and on an atrocious Rams team. Smith was on an equally bad team his rookie year and only threw for one measly TD and 11 picks. Bradford still has two games left to break the 20 TD mark in a season. somethin Smith has never done.
and how could a positive TD to INT ratio possibly prove your point? that doesnt make sense.

It's pathetic some of you guys really want us to lose instead of win. We've been losing for close to a decade and we haven't gotten significantly better. Higher draft pick doesn't mean we will get better.

Well, first of all, do we really want to have a pick in the 7-11 range AGAIN. Granted, we would probably get a good player, but the draft is just as much of a crap shoot in the top half of the first round as it is in the bottom half. Had we had the 21st pick in the 2010 draft (and that is what we would have next year at the highest if we made the playoffs) we could have gotten a player like B. Bulaga, D. Bryant, D. McCourty, K. Wilson, J. Best or P. Robinson. I don't think any of us would have been upset with any of those guys on our team. Point is, play for this year and getting a high draft pick (unless we could be in the A. Luck sweepstakes...which we won't be) should not play a part in wanting to get a win.
As for the schedule, we have to play the NFC East next year. That means by winning our division we would likely play CHI and ATL next year. Big deal. Does it really matter if we play those two or if we play NO and GB. Actually, I think we would match up better with the likely division winners than the 2nd place teams.
Bottom line, any fan and knowledgeable media person should understand this. If your a fan, root for your team and cut the loser talk so we can have a high draft pick and easier schedule. The worst part about us making the playoffs is that we will have to hear for the entire offseason how we didn't belong...unless we get a win or two...who knows? At least we will be able to make fun of GB fans (since they are in a tough spot to get in).
Well said i completely agree. We owned phi atl and no so if we make it i think we can match up really well again. And niners match up a lot better vs chi and atl vs no and gb

I root for the 49ers to win... only to lose for draft position once they are ELIMINATED from the playoffs...

True, having high picks haven't helped us previously but has been due to our awful coaching and player-picking prowess. If we get a decent offensive minded coach and give him the reigns then a high pick could really be beneficial.

if we get a decent offensive minded coach then he could still make us better with a low pick. and we'll have extra playoff experience. BOO YA SON

Maybe a low pick could help us, but a high one would help us more. Surely we want to give the incoming coach the best possible ammo?
One more thing, I really doubt getting destroyed by the Saints in the WC game will really help the players gain playoff experience - just further humiliate them.
As the saying goes, "You don't learn anything from losing apart from you don't like losing!"

YEAH, because it is only a flesh wound.
We are already defeated - you do realize we are a five win team - we just want the bleeding to stop.

This is funny here.....
In any other other season we would have been eliminated weeks ago. We stink and the whole NFC west stinks. This season is an aberration and Sing needs to go. Or else we will be right back here in 2011 and crying over a bad team and chasing elusive playoff dreams again.

Yeah, but we're not eliminated. If we make the playoffs and lose Sing is gone. If we make the playoffs and beat the Saints then obviously we deserve to be there. Win-win either way. You root all year for the team just to give up now, when they are two wins away??

It's really a win-win for me. Win and we go to the playoffs, lose and we get a top 10 pick. Either way and I'll be happy.
