Screw the rain. Let Troy throw. Rain didn't stop Joe Montana, Steve Young or Jeff Garcia.
FREE TROY!
Except he isn't half the qb any of them were.

Quote:
Bad quarterbacks should always stay within sighting distance of Alex Smith.

Just read this....
"Josh Freeman, Mike Williams and LeGarrette Blount form an exciting nucleus of playmakers, the kind who could lead a team to the Super Bowl in three years. While the Buccaneers are building around legitimate prospects, the 49ers are toying with Troy Smith, the kind of pesky scrambler who always looks great to awful teams. The 49ers made the same mistake with Shaun Hill two years ago, talking themselves into thinking a heady backup on a hot streak was a legitimate starter. Quarterbacks like these only look good in comparison to Alex Smith. Short actors sometimes keep shorter friends around them so they look taller in photographs. Bad quarterbacks should always stay within sighting distance of Alex Smith. Pick: Buccaneers."
Wow, what a dick.
This from an organization that's one breathe away from collapse.

Wow, what a dick.
Thats actually funny.
A QB rating of 116.6 over 2 games isn't "toying with Troy Smith".
Troy Smith is NOT Shaun Hill. Lets be REALLY clear. The only problem with Troy is his height. If Troy was 3 inches taller, he's have been a 1st round pick and would have been starting for the last several years.
Is he the answer long term? Who knows, but its definitely possible.
That line about Freeman, Blount and Mike WIlliams...players that they can BUILD around.
Um....Frank Gore, Vernon Davis, Michael Crabtree, Delanie Walker.
Do some homework dumba$$.

I tend to agree with what he generally says. But I have no idea if the Bucs beat us or not.

I really don't care.
Troy is playing well. We are winning. We have zero other QB options this season.
All things considered, I like our situation.
I really don't see how his assessment of our long term QB situation has anything to do with the game on Sunday. Short term is all that matters on Sunday. In that case, Troy is playing well enough to beat most teams. And that certainly includes the likes of the Bucs, who haven't beaten anybody with a winning record if memory serves me correctly.

This Sunday we will get another snap shot of Troy Smith. He will either help us win or help us lose. When that happens we will either agree more with this write's thought or turn away and disagree according the evidence.
