I would be less inclined to brag about beating for example the Patriots without Brady or the Colts without Manning, or the Saints without Drew Brees. BFD! would be the collective response! What good is that? and what have you proven?

i definitely agree but this isn't the Pats or Colts or Saints. These are the Bucs. I think they're a good team on the rise, but I'm not going to be beating my chest about winning this game either way. I just want a win and I don't care how we get it.

Hmmm, when was the last time the 49er's beat a team with a WINNING record? Don't say the Raiders, because when the 49er's faced them, they had a losing record.

Beating the Bucs will indeed be a MAJOR accomplishment based on what the 49er's have done in the past couple of years.

it'll be good, but it won't be in the same category as a win against NO would have. Or to have beaten the Colts of Vikes last year. Etc. TB is a great test for us, to be sure, but they are still an enigma; they haven't beaten anybody either. And we're at home. So i don't think it'll be a major accomplishment.

The last time we beat a team with a winning record was ARI last year.
God how awesome would it be to see Troy lead us to a victory. Last minute one at that...It would be f**king bad ass and amazing. To see good game by a qb for three games in a row would be the s**t.
In my dream I see Troy Smith leading us on a last second drive to win it and the stick goes nuts...That s**t sounds epic after all the s**t talking and uncertainty we have in Troy...God DAMNIT...I'm screwed...I have hope.

no last minute, please. My heart can't take these close games anymore... I wanna see us up by 2-3 scores with 5 minutes left in the game.

I just don't see dominating anyone yet. I hope though. But when I picture the game, that's what I saw.

FYI I'm not psychic lol.

We can't put this game on our inexperienced kicker.

Screw the rain. Let Troy throw. Rain didn't stop Joe Montana, Steve Young or Jeff Garcia.

FREE TROY!
Mark Tanier writes on the 49ers vs. Bucs game

Just read this....

"Josh Freeman, Mike Williams and LeGarrette Blount form an exciting nucleus of playmakers, the kind who could lead a team to the Super Bowl in three years. While the Buccaneers are building around legitimate prospects, the 49ers are toying with Troy Smith, the kind of pesky scrambler who always looks great to awful teams. The 49ers made the same mistake with Shaun Hill two years ago, talking themselves into thinking a heady backup on a hot streak was a legitimate starter. Quarterbacks like these only look good in comparison to Alex Smith. Short actors sometimes keep shorter friends around them so they look taller in photographs. Bad quarterbacks should always stay within sighting distance of Alex Smith. Pick: Buccaneers."

Wow, what a dick.
