I learned a long time ago, never trust ESPN or the majority of the East Coast media because to them, whatever happens out west is not important. The same hack writers from the east coast still try to chalk up the Giants World Series run up to being "lucky" and getting all the breaks. I guess their pitching had nothing to do with it. Fvck the NY Times, NY Post, NY Giants, Jets, Knicks, Yanks and Mets and all Boston or New England related sports and news media. The NY and Boston writers seem to think that nothing else exists outside of their little New England and Tri-State region so what they report about whats happening out west is usually a joke anyways.

LeGarrette Blount = Icky Woods 2010. -Dude can run but CANNOT BLOCK WORTH s**t. Situational back with the IQ of 5, emotional problems (with a horrible learning curve).
Blount has played in six games this season.
I do agree with you regarding his blocking. This mismatch will be exploited this Sunday.
Also, he has deficiencies as a pass catcher, which reduces the threat of a screen.

Blount is known to be a hothead, the D should take advantage by throwing him with trash talk about his mama, who is our best trash talker, make him commit stupid penalties.

With a BAC of .065, I'm not sure who deserves the DUI more--- Mike Williams, or all the HOMERS passing around the KOOL-AID in here...
Regradless, this whole DUI thing is going to make things even worse for you guys because the BUCS are only going to use this unwanted attention to "circle the wagons" and focus even more on dissecting your hopes and dreams of keeping up in the NFC West...
DESPITE our porous run defense (just like with other teams we've faced with losing records) we will win this game too...
I can't wait till you realize the bucs are going to finish the season 8-8.

Blount fumbles alot too. No way Bucs will be contending for a super bowl in 3 years.

All things considered, I like our situation.
I really don't see how his assessment of our long term QB situation has anything to do with the game on Sunday. Short term is all that matters on Sunday. In that case, Troy is playing well enough to beat most teams. And that certainly includes the likes of the Bucs, who haven't beaten anybody with a winning record if memory serves me correctly.
You hit the nail on the head my friend. In this brand of NFL where the Cleveland Browns are beating the crap out of the Defending Champs and the Patriots with a rookie QB no less, you've got to just stay short-sighted so to speak. There are only 7 games remaining in the regular season and I for one don't think that this team necessarily needs a complete roster overhaul in order to get back to Super Bowl contention. So with that said, I understand our weaknesses (Head Coach?, long term QB, Secondary, Pass Protection...) and those issues are honestly going to have to be addressed in the off-season OR if this current squad gets mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. I'm a "Happy" 49er fan in the sense that I'm just basking in the NOW..the fact that we are 3-1 our last 4 games like Takeo Spikes said.

It'd be cool to see Williams get suspended a day before the game (via Goodell). We're A+ at shutting the run down; leave the game to Freeman without Williams (and possibly Stroughter, who may/may not return Sunday), this will be an incredibly one-sided affair.
But I hope Williams shows up, as well as Stroughter, cause we can beat their asses regardless of who's playing (or not).

Mark Tanier writes on the 49ers vs. Bucs game
Just read this....
"Josh Freeman, Mike Williams and LeGarrette Blount form an exciting nucleus of playmakers, the kind who could lead a team to the Super Bowl in three years. While the Buccaneers are building around legitimate prospects, the 49ers are toying with Troy Smith, the kind of pesky scrambler who always looks great to awful teams. The 49ers made the same mistake with Shaun Hill two years ago, talking themselves into thinking a heady backup on a hot streak was a legitimate starter. Quarterbacks like these only look good in comparison to Alex Smith. Short actors sometimes keep shorter friends around them so they look taller in photographs. Bad quarterbacks should always stay within sighting distance of Alex Smith. Pick: Buccaneers."
Wow, what a dick.
Thats actually funny.
A QB rating of 116.6 over 2 games isn't "toying with Troy Smith".
Troy Smith is NOT Shaun Hill. Lets be REALLY clear. The only problem with Troy is his height. If Troy was 3 inches taller, he's have been a 1st round pick and would have been starting for the last several years.
Is he the answer long term? Who knows, but its definitely possible.
That line about Freeman, Blount and Mike WIlliams...players that they can BUILD around.
Um....Frank Gore, Vernon Davis, Michael Crabtree, Delanie Walker.
Do some homework dumba$$.
That's what made me laugh the most. Williams Blount and Freeman have proven nothing in the league. Gore and Davis alone are better than the three of them. Crabtree is fast becoming a threat to score every time he touches the ball.
Who knows if Troy Smith will keep this up but I'll take our role players over theirs every day of the week.

We will know before the year is over though. This game will tell us a lot about Troy Smith as will the big game vs Seattle and AT Green Bay.

All of you Bucs fans think your team is all of a sudden a bad ass team. lol. My best friend is a Bucs fan but he is also a realist, he knows you guys are still a couple of years away. To think you all are so superior to our squad is just comical. Be careful with all of the statements you make. You may be eating a lot of crow come Sunday evening. lol
