Fellas I took a lot of slack for saying that we need to build our defense up to the point where it is dominant like the jets! Defense wins championships and we saw the jets defense dominate against the chargers and he is in the afc championship game and the quaterback throws for under one hundred yards a game in the playoffs. we have the running back let's build a dominant offensive line and a dominant defense and we will be in the nfc championship game next year!
Shut up. No you don't hate to say it. Man gotta love it when people say "I hate to say it".
No you don't or you wouldn't say it. Period.
And I think the San Diego Defense played a part in that loss. Put OUR Defense in there and I think that the Boltz walk out of there victorious. Their D was in it into the 3rd quarter though.Of course our D would want to bloody the Jets noses on every play for their crap this season.

Dude you honestly think our defense would have stopped their receivers? Put that crack pipe down it's frying your brain! They have better receivers than the falcons and you know what they did to us! We don't have the speed at the defensive back-field to compete with these teams I know it hurts to hear the truth, but I believe I am here to bring balance to the alex and wonderland webzoners! Were close but not quite there!
Their QB has to remain UPRIGHT in order for the Receivers to be effective. Take away their Run game like our Backers are capable of then HELL YEAH, I think they certainly can match up well with the Jets Offense.
Did you SEE the Arizona game? 8 turnovers not withstanding there were only a couple times where the reason Fitz didn't get a deep ball was cause Warner had him but overthrew the pass. If we can keep the Tards Receivers quiet then the Jets Receivers can be kept to a dull roar on the field as well.
If you were watching FOX this weekend I think it was, they were saying that to play against the higher scoring teams(Az in particular) that the DCs' would have to look at what WE did to them. So you can stow the disbelief where it belongs.
Man what is up with people. We have an 8-8 season and while it's nothing to brag about our Defense was pretty damn stout for the most part this season. Even though they were on the field for 3/4 of the first six games. That should say they are PLENTY capable of playing against the tougher teams so long as they have support from the Offense and Special Teams.

true but I've been a die hard niner fan since 1984. So don't think I know my stuff, look for the Jets to beat the colts! Yeah I said it! O I forgot the Colts have a pretty good defense too!
OK.. Ill go along with what you say and not think you know your stuff.

All of the surviving playoff teams have BOTH outstanding OL's and DL's...which is exactly why I'm saying Singletary & McCloughan must take advantage of the draft and grab two of the top OL in the 1st round. I know it's tempting to take a different skill player with the #16 or 17 pick...but, with Bulaga/top OT on the board and Iupati, that's the right investment into the OL. Who knows when we'll have two #1 picks again...I say we make the most of it and go for some top OL talent, once and for all.

I second that...if the Jets go all the way, maybe I will liste. A little not more. But for now, no thanks

we have a s**tty o-line and a good defense. If our oline gets better and can actually put 10-14 play drives together, this will in turn make our defense better. We have the talent to be top 5 defense but our o line needs to get better to keep the ball longer and score more points.
Which in turn, our defense will be on the field less and make the opposing offense more predictable becuase they are playing from behind.

They arent yet, but they will be in the AFC championship! I would kill for us to be playing next week! Even if we lost!
As to scoring more than 17 points; that is the point of this thread! You don't have to if you have a dominant defense and an awesome running game to burn the clock out.
