Unless you don't mind having ALL of our capspace tied up in Crabtree and 2 rookies and have no $ left to reup Willis.

ESPECIALLY when next year is the last year before either a lockout or a rookie cap

He's not our biggest need. If he was a stud QB or pass rusher, I would be more inclined to break the slotting system.

How can you guarantee that ?

They probably are laughing at us for not attempting to meet in the middle somewhere and show that we are at least trying to sign him.

They are also going to be thankful for us for basically drafting him for another team or allowing him to re-enter the draft thus adding to the talent available in next years draft.

they offered 2 contracts one back loaded less signing bounse , the other is the 16 million 20 overall. back loaded mean the they offered him 35 million 12 in signing bounus and get the bulk of the money in the last 2 years of the contract !

I can easily see Michael Craptree, his cousin and agent all sitting in front of the TV watching the 9ers vs Cards game and....pulling for the 9ers to lose!

Why?

Because in Craptree little selfish world, he believes with a lost, additional pressure will be on the 9ers to cave in to his outragious contract demands.

The very best thing that could happen is a WIN today, thereby showing Mr. Craptree we can INDEED do without him and his selfish ego.

And even better would be our WR core being a clear part of that win.
