I still don't understand how the 49ers can be so stupid to think that they can just offer one contract and be done with "negotiations." Do the Yorks want to get the approval of the fellow owners? The other owners are laughing at them.

I can garuntee you that the other owners (Jerry Jones excluded) are NOT laughing at the Niners. I'm sure they are VERY thankful to the Yorks for not caving and breaking the slotting system.

How can you guarantee that ?

They probably are laughing at us for not attempting to meet in the middle somewhere and show that we are at least trying to sign him.

They are also going to be thankful for us for basically drafting him for another team or allowing him to re-enter the draft thus adding to the talent available in next years draft.

Stop being realistic.

Fixed.

Just heard on Fox by Jay Glazer that the 49es front office sent Crabtree a letter this week saying that if he doesnt report by today that they will modify his contract to a lesser amount.

My assumption is on a per game basis.

You guys are all b***hing at management, Jay Glazer just said the 49ers HAVE sent Crabtree a letter indicating, that each game he sits out, the 49ers will modify (read reduce) the contract offer.

The NFL is a business. If 1 person overpays for a commodity it drives up the market value. Not to mention how many of these other organizations would be dealing with the Crabtree situation next year if the Niners cave. Again these are businessmen and us caving hurts their bottom line.

Thanks for showing me how to spell guarantee though.

Why?

Because in Craptree little selfish world, he believes with a lost, additional pressure will be on the 9ers to cave in to his outragious contract demands.

The very best thing that could happen is a WIN today, thereby showing Mr. Craptree we can INDEED do without him and his selfish ego.

And even better would be our WR core being a clear part of that win.

Sorry Mr. Craptree, you lost a paycheck today and here is to the 9ers PROVING to YOU, we don't need your silly little butt!

Go 9ers!!!

If the passing game proves to be ineffective then a win does nothing for us in this regard.

When Fitz or Brady Quinn broke the slotting system how did that affect the following year's draft and getting players signed ? It did not.

But does that really help us?

He's not our biggest need. If he was a stud QB or pass rusher, I would be more inclined to break the slotting system.

and if we can trade him for even more than a first rounder next year... that would be pretty sweet. imagine 3 first rounders next year? spooge....

I know man. *sigh*

Wow, so I guess it's over.

Imagine how f**king happy we were to get Crabtree. Now this.

Our FO is f**ked.

We let our GM go on record and call Crabtree a home run and the player he wants the most in the draft. Then once we get him what do they do ? Show they are not willing to negotiate at all and offer a take it or leave it deal.

Michael Crabtree, sure do wish we could have had you as we surely did need you. Oh well back to watching another year of playmaker deficient football on offense.

Yes!

About freak'en time 9ers. Love it!

Now 9ers brass got to step up, be bold and also petition the NFL to investigate those comments made on TV by Deion (bling, bling) Sanders. Where there is smoke , there is fire.

9ers have to PROVE to the other NFL franchises, they will NOT be stepped on without fighting back!

The 9ers have nothing to lose by petitioning the NFL to investigate and, everything to gain, including potential draft picks and sending a strong message to the other NFL teams... "Don't Mess With Us!"
