Sounds good. Now sign the contract & get to work please.
I think Crabtree also called Dilfer up so he could get used to the way Shaun Hill throws the ball. Here's to hoping the call happens soon.
Dilfer actually has above average arm strength.
Not to mention he is a god awful QB, and how he stayed in the NFL as long as he did still boggles my mind..
Have you ever seen the way he holds a clipboard ? He should still be in the league with those skills

What I really hate is all this drama...
all the team is thinkong is mentally preparing for the arizona game.. all they are doing is watching film and hearing from coach sing how important is this game... and all of a sudden we hear this kid who thinks he is a great player and doent want 20 million because mock drafts said he should get 30 million, is practicing with trent dilfer... its absurd he shuld be inking the contract and practicing with his team ..
its annoying and I hope he sign now so he doesn’t burn more bridges with the fans and his teammates, because if I were on that locker room I will really give him a hard time...

I hope Crabtree never reads the 'zone. There would be no chance in hell Crabtree would sign after a 10 minute reading session here.

I could care less if we have to overpay to get hm....Crabtree is one of the best players in the draft and we need to take advantage of it.
Yup. They will also be wearing his jersey proudly and hoping that no one ever remembers how they wanted to trade him.
The mods truly need to protect this thread so we can serve up a huge pile of crow.
Like I said earlier ATG, remember when they would say the Yorks are cheap ? Now all of a sudden so many don't want us to pay, because they know it will affect us with future draft picks. I mean look how much it hurt Cleveland to overpay Quinn....oh wait it didn't hurt Cleveland at all.

Brady is a QB which means he is more valuable than a WR. But I do agree with you about a lot of people eating crow. Including Crabtree when he signs the contract the niners offered him in the summer
That's meaningless really. The value of position means little compared to where you grade out vs the rest of the draft class. Quinn was a top 10 player in that draft class but Crabtree was a top 3 talent hands down.
All draft speculation is meaningless. The only thing that matters is where you were drafted and how much the team is truely willing to pay you. The 9 worst teams in the league pass him up. This is fact.

What Chris Mortensen had to say eariler in his chat
If you were his agent - what would you tell M. Crabtree right now?
Chris Mortensen (11:33 AM)
I think Eugene Parker, his agent, is a very capable guy. Sometimes, it's a little bit too much hardball but, ultimately, the player is in control. I'm sure Parker has explain to Crabtree the facts of life. You lose a year of big wages. You loses your elite draft status. It's dangerous but it's his privilege.

They have the ability to up the offer....at least be able to meet in the middle....and to go weeks...damn near a month without any contact is idiotic............OH FOOLISH PRIDE!
Oh well.
"Overpaying" for players with a proven NFL track record is one thing. Overpaying for a 22 year old sophomore is entirely different.
Truthfully I don't even understand why fans care about that(It's NOT YOUR MONEY).....I do believe our track record for first round picks haven't been that great....with the exception of Willis and Peterson. We drafted VD #6 overall....was he worth that?? IMO No.
Regardless of what people say....this kid is talented and will be a #1 WR in this leauge. I understand people are upset but if you take the emotion away you will see this is a no win situation for either party. THE TEAM has spoken out and said Crabtree will sign so I would think there doing everything in there power to make it so.......just my thoughts.

I hope the thinking isn't that just because we overpaid unproductive players in the past, we should continue with that tradition.
I don't believe this kid will be unproductive.
