Craptree will cry if he is not feed the ball and be disruptive...let him sit home and trade him after this season.

Trade the sack of s**t to the cowboys next march for a first. Then we'll have 3 first round picks.

Take McCoy and 2 pass rushers. Dump Sing/Raye and hire Shanahan.

Playoffs in 10' muthaf**kas!

Nah...MM has no idea when Crabtree will sign...he's just guessing like the rest of us and wrote that article to find a new spin on the story.

I'm as annoyed as anyone about Crabtree not signing, but at some point, he's gonna put his name on the contract and we're all gonna feel foolish for being so angry.

Every game he misses I believe will put us further away from signing because of his weekly proration for every game correct? I think the anger is justified to a certain degree I wish we could trade him right now for say a Merriman or Peppers waiting a year is a bummer....

It's obvious that we never brought him in for an interview, it's obvious we didn't do our homework. Scotty blew his wad when he saw him drop and drafted him.

Ummm I believe most 49er fans wanted him when he dropped not just the Scotty. How is it obvious we never scouted him and can you provide factual evidence of that that we never did ?

Go back and look and the Brady Quinn situation when he dropped in the draft, he got more money than his slotted position as has been previously pointed out. He held out 10 days and the team coughed up the money. It has never had a negative effect on their last 2 drafts when it came time to signing their picks.

We didn't draft for need. WE DID NOT DRAFT FOR NEEDS!!!! that is why we are in this position. M. Oher should've been the pick. Logical. Man we are starting to look & sound like the raiders. pathetic. all of you on here that love this kid go to hell! he will suck. he was a system wr and will not be a good wr in the nfl. stop tjhe madness.

There are 2 theory's in the NFL draft for need or draft BPA regardless of position. We drafted the BPA far and away. If we wanted Oher then we should have traded back into the first to get him. He dropped quite far for a guy who was supposedly going to go in the top 10, you know why ? Because he showed a lot of inconsistencies. The 49ers picked the right player when they were on the clock.

There are a TON of system players who get drafted and turn into studs once they reach the pro's. Can you explain why he will suck, because you have failed to post anything insightful yet.

allot of you have drank the cool aid. crap man this makes me sick. if my boys & me see you with a crabtree jersey in the parking lot prepare for hell man. there will be a t least 12 angry guys reaming your ass! this is stupid.

Wow you and your boys are some real tough guys hunh ? Nothing like making fun of another 49ers fan because of the 49ers jersey he so chooses to wear, that'll show that fan. Way to make us look like Raider fans!

what will be even more stupid is if we sign him. what a waste of a pick. another waste of a first round pick. pathetic! it's the curse of the mooch! f**k the yorks!!! & scotty! horrid management.

How would that be stupid ? To sign a player with his potential is a GREAT thing and not at all a bad thing. He can hopefully eventually help improve a far from great WR core. We have some potential at WR but none have a ceiling anywhere near as high as MC's.

You are right, it will be a waste of a pick if at some time something doesn't get done. However with so few details available to us about this whole ordeal it is not fair to really truly blame one side or the other.

All we have learned is he was offered 16 mill guaranteed and the there have not been many talks between the 2 sides since then. Maybe the 49ers should up the offer, maybe they should be pushing a little harder to show him how much they want him to be a player on this team. Maybe Crabtree & co. should submit a counter offer (if they already haven't) and maybe Crabtree needs to make a statement to the media.

However one thing is clear, 49er fans are clearly overreacting to all of this. At the end of the day this sport has become a business and right now it's about money. We have very few details to actually go on yet everyone wants to blame Crabtree for the holdout. How many times have fans claimed the York's are cheap over the last few years....maybe it's time for the FO to put more money on the table or release more details to show us that they are doing all they can to get MC signed which would put more pressure ont he Crabtree camp to get something done.

Agree with everything you're saying. Except the part where the niners need to up the offer. Until Crabtree's camp comes with a counter offer, the niners do not need to bend.

Maybe it is time to offer more guaranteed, be it 2-5 million more (if we already haven't). It may just be time to show him that we are seriously wanting him to be in uniform. If nothing comes of it then we sit and wait for a counter and make that clear to the media and fans, let them know we have put more money on the table and now await a counter if that is not good enough.

Hell no! I'd rather keep the receivers that we have now than give into to this pussies demands and let him punk us! I bet that when he comes, if he comes, to this team, he will be b***hing about something else soon after anyways! Time TO MOVE ON WITHOUT HIM! CUT OUR LOSSES!
i hope we trade him to a crappy team
If we trade him before next years draft, is he excluded from the draft?

Did or has Brady Quinn ever punk the Browns since they gave in to his wanting more money than what #22 deserved ?

Speculating and assuming is ridiculous.

Think about your question real hard and you will have your answer?

My rant from different points of view.

First, the draft itself.
Get off the "poor pick" podium. Everyone, including those who say now it was a bad pick, were giddy after we picked Crabtree, the screams and cheers could be heard on Mars for crying out loud. Oher, Maybin, nor Orakpo were not graded as high and they went with BPA, rightfully so. At the time, it was the right pick, period so its time to get over it and let it go.

The contract negotiations
Did some research and the bottom line is that the 49ers are being "fair" with their offer and are not being bullied into a greedy player's demands. Now, I am of the camp that says,
"Let him sit out!"
"He's not worth it to become a 49er!"
"Let Dallas or any other team trade their #1 to get him next year."
"No talent is worth it when they hold your team hostage."
and more...

However, Crabtree is a commodity and right now that commodity's worth is dropping each day he doesn't sign. Just like an investment, what is the worst that can happen: The commodity isn't worth chit. No trade. No pick. No nothing!

Well Crabtree's is still worth something to someone, IMO and Sanders so directly put it by making the statement that their are two teams willing to pay Crabtree what he is worth. Therefore, we still do have an out even if the negotiations fail this year: Trade him before the 2010 draft for picks. That's right picks. History has shown a precedent for this type of scenario...just like Maiocco said this morning. Heck, a one for one trade in next year's draft would be great...Three 1st round picks????!!!!!

We are not out of this yet.

On Michael Crabtree's talent.
I remember how Crabtree's talent was minimized by many draft pundits when compared to Moss, Fitz, Johnson, etc. He's not even in the same league one said. I then ask, "Why would we then succumb to his demands when he's not even a top 10 pick when compared to others?" Sure he's lit the college scene on fire. Sure he's has incredible hands and can jump. But is he worth it now? Is his stance on his future team worth it? No. No talent is worth making him above all others on the team, period. There's always talent out there, we don't need another TO with the "Me-Centric" lifestyle to fester within this camp and it would.

Finally, Deon Sanders
Conflict of interest! OK, what now? This little biatch session by Sanders was allowed by the NFL Network as he is employed by them. He used his segment to promote someone in his sphere of influence coupled with helping his agent's ad campaign. If it were any other place of employment, Sanders would be fired for doing such a thing. Instead, the NFLN, other major media outlets like ESPN, just brushed this scene under the rug. Ah, the good ol' boys network. Nice!

Don't be Angry
So like MadDog has calmly said, we are just getting too angry. After all, who are we to be upset when your #1 investment goes south especially in this economy? It's just money...you know, the money you pay each year to see your beloved 49ers. After all, we want a player who centers himself as being above others in his own mind. After all, we want our prized possession to be all about the money and not the team. After all, we want to lavish on Crabtree for being who he is, greedy. It's OK to get your own, but not at the expense of the team, community and of course, us fans.

You have a right to be upset at the situation. Your hearts are completely invested in this team and more so, your money. In most of your eyes, I see the slap in the face by Crabtree. No wonder there is so much anger. You loved the kid and sometimes it feels as though he's laughing at you especially when you place "the smug, carnie-lookin' Sanders" as the face of your camp--ridiculous!!

There is some solace. We do have an out at least. It could be now or it may be some time, but we do have one.

All is not lost!

Go 49ers!

right. sorry. quite possibly the dumbest question ever posed on this site. I just started thinking if a new team has his rights through trade and he doesn't sign with them, what is his status for the year? I suppose he sits out another year?

We can send him to the Raiders so he can be with his boy Haywood-Bay and send Seymour to us. Whatcha think?!

oh wow, if he did that again he would be a complete moron and would be playing in the CFL.
Thats a good question, because is it the same rules or does he get to become a free agent
