only thing this divorce needs is for him to move out of the bay area now....we made a bad pick in retrospect, we got burned for it, maybe we can salvage something in the spring for it. for another year we won't have a primetime reciever, maybe we address it in the spring. would have been great to see what we could have built with him but as it is, its time to settle in for another 6 win season and see if we can actually made some desent picks next time around.

Keep telling yourself that and you might start to believe it.
I do believe it

I do not get it - some say that we can trade him around March but I thought that the trade deadline for draft choices had already expired. Help please.
The trade deadline for 2009 season on draft choices was August 12th. The Niners will still control his rights starting at the end of this season till next March, before the 2010 draft.
I believe we hold his rights right up to the draft so we could refuse to let him workout for any team.
I'm almost to the point of doing that to make him fall even furter in the draft and use our 2nd rounder to pick him up, give him a low-ball offer (say $ 0.50 for 5 years) and making him sit out another season. Let's see his value after 2 years away from football. If he wants to play hardball, let's play hardball.Let him suit up for Sundays in his Subway uniform!
I've considered this scenario and thought it would be pretty funny to draft him again next year in the 2nd or 3rd round. The guy is a stupid beyond comprehension.

How are you coming to that conclusion?
We offer X.....He wants Y.....We wont give him Y.....He wont accept X, neither side is going to cave into the other. I'm really starting to think he isn't going to sign.
insider knowledge
Do you have a date when this will happen?

I think were doing the right thing. Hold our ground, let Crabtree sit the season out and maybe we could get something real decent next off season. To bad we can't trade him NOW for some draft picks or FA's.

ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!! LOCK THIS THREAD!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm sick & tired of Crabtree. We are the only ones to blame. It's obvious we didn't scout him. It's obvious that we never brought him in for an interview, it's obvious we didn't do our homework. Scotty blew his wad when he saw him drop and drafted him. We didn't draft for need. WE DID NOT DRAFT FOR NEEDS!!!! that is why we are in this position. M. Oher should've been the pick. Logical. Man we are starting to look & sound like the raiders. pathetic. all of you on here that love this kid go to hell! he will suck. he was a system wr and will not be a good wr in the nfl. stop tjhe madness. allot of you have drank the cool aid. crap man this makes me sick. if my boys & me see you with a crabtree jersey in the parking lot prepare for hell man. there will be a t least 12 angry guys reaming your ass! this is stupid.
what will be even more stupid is if we sign him. what a waste of a pick. another waste of a first round pick. pathetic! it's the curse of the mooch! f**k the yorks!!! & scotty! horrid management.

What a sad state of affairs we are in. I hate the pictures the webzone uses of crab. He looks like a tool with an evil grimace on his face.

I am now convinced he will never play for the 49ers. Our best bet/hope is to get a 2nd rd pick for him when we are allowed to trade him starting March 1st.
