I don't understand this whole situation.. business... difference of opinion.. This whole situation is just frustrating.. How hard is it to sign a multi-year, multi-million dollar deal when you haven't even played one second of pro ball?

Pride? Seriously? Lowballing? Please, to me these are all excuses from a greedy @$$ b@$!@rd.. I probably will never even sniff the amount of money he is turning down for so-called "what he deserves".. The plain truth is that these guys were all given a talent to play games as a way of life.. If he doesn't feel he's getting what he deserves then please tell everyone NOW that you ARE sitting out and not just "have the ability to".. Absolutely ridiculous.

I think it is garbage too. He hasn't earned it and is complaining that he is top 5 talent but fell off because of the stress fracture discovered at the combine. His issue might be that the way the contract is structured he would get the most out of it if his first two seasons are as good as Rice's first two seasons. He probably doesn't think our pie thrower will give him that opportunity

What do you guys think? Do ya'll think those are achievable with Hill as a starting QB? He can outrun Hills deep ball that's for sure. I think it was a bad pick again because we had more pressing needs. Neither here nor there anymore though

i am a 9er all the way and have been reading all posts and articles on the situation. this guy is one of the best wr ever to come out of college. i believe that this guy is going to be great. just the balls of the guy whether i agree of disagree with him. he has what we need swagger but not over the top. we have paid other players lots more money nate over paid. his college numbers proof he is worth a little more money, he is a skills guy with great skills. i say we meet in the middle and end this. put your self in his situation why should anybody settle for less in life. but if he ends up on another team i hope Mr. Willis takes his head off when he comes threw the middle the first time we play against him.

I like what maiocco said in his new article. about how if there are teams interested in giving him what he wants then why didnt they trade up to get him? makes no sense. I think he's gonna just milk this thing as long as possible then sign.

although the niners might not want to sign him anymore.

At this point, I think Niners have to put a different (and final) offer on the table. Neither side wins if there is no deal, so they need to meet in the middle.

Niners have offered a contract what a no. 10 draft pick should get. Crabtree's camp reportedly wants DHB's money. I say, meet in the middle. Crabtree is not a usual #10 pick, so break the slot and offer him money between the no. 8 and no. 9 slot. Meet him half way, and get the deal done. At this point, Crabtree's side wants to save face, and Niners obviously would like to get him on the team as well.

That's the best possible scenario left on the table imo. Give him a 6 yr. contract which has a clause for team option for the last 2 years with high escalators like teams do with no.1 overall pick. If he is really good, he can get paid 7-8 million a year in the last two years, and if he is not, he can become a FA after 4 years.

Niners should start to lower their offer after Sunday, to MAKE sure he won't sign. Like MM said, they can get a 1st, and maybe a second. Then they can package selections and get, for the most part; most of their biggest holes filled.

The thinking is; this guy is going to be trouble, and lots of it and he is going to be a ME guy all the way. This guy, on the Niners, is a cancer waiting to go nuclear. Plus he is a loser as far as his personality is concerned in my book.

Also, the Niners absolutely do NOT have to meet this pinhead anywhere in the middle, he has NO leverage, none. He is going to freak next week when the Niners reduce their offer and they let the NFL see what they think of him.

Then in spring like MM says, they work the trade with some dumbass team for multi selections. We get what we need and the other team gets malignant cancer waiting to happen!

I don't want this guy on the team, no way, no how..

This is the best article I have seen on Crabtree yet. The whole thing is great, but I think my favorite part is:

The last time I checked the Yankees had the best record in the League. I think you meant to say the Redskins.

In any case, I'm sick and tired of Crabtree. When I think about how the Niners will do this season, Crabtree doesn't even figure into equation. As far as I'm concerned, I feel it's probably better that we don't sign Crabtree. The guy is just a problem waiting to happen and with Singletary as the head coach, he'll have Crabtree crying everyday in practice. The kid is a headcase and with him not signing it's probably a blessing in disguise. Good Riddance.
