Yeah for me heading into the game, the key is going to be on Carlson. He's turning into a fine TE.

I'm not too worried about their backs heading into the flats, Willis will have them covered.

You got to watch out for forsett in the screen in those situations. He had been really impressive thus far. Did you guys have an injury that I don't know about? why the jump in the point spread? thats a 6 point difference.

If any injury occurs, it's posted here before it even hits ESPN.

Yeah i'm not quite sure where that point spread is from, but i have a hard time not picking the 49ers even with my homer glasses.

Where did you get that spread? I would love to bet on that. Unfortunately, I use www.sportsbook.com and the 9ers are favored by 1.5 so far.

Waiting till Friday to bet since the juice on Friday bets is only 5%.

This is my honest opinion on the thing. Don't know if its to give you a little extra hope or to justify a loss to myself. But division rivals are hard to beat. Doesn't matter what the records are or what the situation is. Road games are hard to win. Seattle has not traveled all that well in recent years. Its very hard for a road team to get a win on their opponents home season opener. There is just way too much excitement and its hard to overcome. So I am a little nervous about heading down there to play you guys. It should be tough and it should be very telling. That seems to be a reoccuring theme on this thread. But it is very true.

I actually got it from ESPN. I think I made a mistake, I think it was based upon a fan vote? SORRY GUYS! My fault.

I doubt it too, because I checked on Monday and the line was 49ers -3.5. Now, it's dropped to -1.5. I doubt the Seahawks were ever favored by 4.5. Just too much of a disparity.

No doubt and you're absolutely right. Even though we may not have one of the NFL's greatest divisions, we always seem to have tough division games in the NFC West.

Like was mentioned in another thread. Whoever wins this game is probably going to the favorite to win the NFC West. It's a very telling game for both teams who both need a fast start to get the confidence going.

Yes. Unless the Niner's lay an egg, you guys are gonna have to work your ass off for it.... if anything for no other reason than what you list above. That's about all I expect from the Niner's, win or lose....make opponents EARN it, pay for it, instead of giving it away.

That's the key thing that Sing seems to have changed so far...opponents are now having to work their ass off for what ever they can get instead of getting it for free.
Patrick Willis will return an interception for td!

just like last season!...

'Hey, it's Rex': Jets coach calls fans for help

By DENNIS WASZAK Jr. - AP Sports Writer

2009-09-16 20:18

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) -Rex Ryan picked up the phone and called on New York Jets fans for some help against Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.

The head coach recorded a 70-second message that was sent to every season-ticket holder Wednesday, urging Jets fans to make it ``miserable for Brady & Co. and seem like there's 13 or 14 guys out there on defense'' during Sunday's game at the Meadowlands.

Ryan spoke from the heart - no script - and Jets fans got a surprise when they answered their phones or checked voicemails.

``Hey, this is Rex Ryan, the head coach of the New York Jets,'' Ryan began the message. ``I just wanted to let you know how much we need you this week. You know, I've already admitted that, hey, the Patriots have a better head coach and they've got a better quarterback than us. But we're going to see who's got a better team.''

The Jets play their home opener Sunday against Bill Belichick's Patriots, a team that has beaten them eight straight times at the Meadowlands.

``Again, I admit that I'm not as good as Belichick, but at the end of the game, I want to be 1-0 against him,'' Ryan ended the message. ``So, help me out if you don't mind. That's my challenge, OK? Thank you. Bye.''

Ryan, who was an assistant coach at Baltimore the last 10 seasons, is hoping to turn the Jets' home field into a clear advantage.

``I've seen that happen where sometimes it gets so loud and it just takes one guy to miss a check,'' Ryan said after practice. ``So, I'm challenging our fans to maybe be the difference in this game this week.''

I WANT ALL OF YOU WHO ARE GOING TO BE AT THE GAME SUNDAY TO BE TWICE AS LOUD AS THE MEADOWLANDS. I WANT IT SO LOUD HASSELBACH'S FREAKING HEAD EXPLODES WHEN THE IMPACT OF JUSTIN SMITH ARRIVES. I WANT EVERYONE OF YOU TO RISE UP AND KNOW THAT BY THE END OF THE GAME, WE WILL BE 2-0. LETS DO THIS s**t 9ER FAN AND LETS DO IT FOR OUR COACH WHO HAS COME INTO THIS ORGANIZATION AND BROUGHT OUR LEGACY BACK; THE LEGACY OF WINNING!

GET f**kING LOUD AND TREAT ANY TEAM THAT COMES INTO OUR HOUSE THIS LIKE THEY ARE THE TALIBAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ROCK AND ROLL.
Its kinda strange...

I'm more pumped up for this game than I was last week @ Arizona! Anyone else feel that way?
