How much of an upgrade is that stadium to this one?
Yeah it's got shiny paint and all but is that really worth an extra $1,000,000,000?

If you have to ask that question, then this thread is even more of a waste of time than it already was.

One, this is the Bay Area, so both cost and politics are a hindrance.
Two, the Yorks aren't the best of owners as we're all aware of, so don't expect anything better than average.
Three, don't expect a stadium for what looks like close to 10 years rather than 5, so don't worry about any of this.

You can look at the proposed LA stadiums too and it's waaaay better. I don't see anything cutting edge. And that whole we want it open seems like a way of saying "we don't want to pay for a roof or dome." Does anybody else notice all this?
dude WHO CARES> this product sucks. This crap they throw out ther continues there will be no stadium. You will be visitiing the water horders in la. Wow dont people have any homework to do instead of these insightful posts. STADIUM DESIGNS. You have to be kiddin me

It's a discount stadium. Like everything else the Yorks do. And BTW they have been talking about this for a decade. Still no broken ground, no financing and no final location.
Don't hold your breath on seeing that in your liftime. Pretty pictures though.

It's a good/solid design (I can live with it), but of course it's in no comparison to Eddie D's purposed design (which would have had a shopping/civic center connected to it to bring in profitable amounts of revenue).

Discount? The proposed as shown is estimated at $916 million.
Cowboy's Stadium was $1.3 billion, features a dome and can be expanded by 40k seats.
New Meadowlands Stadium was 1.6 billion and is shared by two organizations.
And a decade? If you're talking about Santa Clara, it's been one year.
If you're talking about Hunters Point, its been four years.
Anything prior to 2006 was posturing from the city of San Francisco in an attempt to win an Olympic bid.

I am seriously beginning to wonder if the yorks are angling for this to be our new stadium.
I sincerely hope and pray I am wrong.

I actually like the stadium, it's more of a classic stadium and not a freaking crater sized spaceship. You guys have to keep in mind that Jerry Jones built Cowboys stadium so that he could lobby for all star games and concerts etc. We are building our stadium with intentions based on playing classic 49ers football. I love it, open air stadium, good classic features with a state of the art blend. From the way the stadium is designed it looks like they made it so all the sound will flow down towards the field so our opposing teams with feel like the sound is sitting right on top of them. Not every team needs a state of the art stadium. Look @ Philly, Tampa, Baltimore they all have nice classic football stadiums.

~ They talked about more than Santa Clara.
~ Yorks have talked about a new stadium since they owned the team. Around a decade.
~ Still no stadium. Do you see one?
