My Two Cents...
I am an SF native, but I have also had the honor of also living in Santa Clara.

@ MSteitz468 - Santa Clara is 2 Counties away from the City of SF, and also 45 miles away. That by far will make the SF 49ers stadium the 1st team in the NFL that plays the farthest from their namesake City. Also take note that San Jose is about 2 seconds away from the proposed stadium site, the 49ers won't be SF anymore, they will be San Jose's team.

@ craigboy - MYTH...*Most Of The 49ers Fans Live In The South Bay* was a fallacy perpetrated by the Yorks to garner support for Measue J...In other words, "Its Not True." There are loads of 49er Fans in SF, Sacramento, Rocklin, Eureka, and all the way up to the border of Oregon. Thats the same kind of BS the Yorks perpetrated by saying that SF doesn't care, or want the 49ers...yeah right, the citizens of SF only voted 3 times to have a Stadium built here for the 9ers. The Yorks Love to Scapegoat, thats why the product they put on the field is currently inferior, cuz they talk out of both sides of there mouths.

@ nw9erfan - The proposed Santa Clara stadium site is on a 14 acre parking lot, next to an Amusement Park, and the stadium will only have 1,800 dedicated parking spaces for fans. The Yorks are looking for Private Business to provide parking, but that is NOT a given, plus there will be NO Tailgaiting on Private Parking Lots, And NO MNF, or Thurday Nite Football...due to LACK OF PARKING. Next, Great America is located at least 2 miles from Freeway Access, so that will also be an issue.

When the Hunters Point Community is finished, with or without the new 49er Stadium there will be infrastructure included, because it is going to be a new Community. There will be new homes, condos, stores, restaurants, and live/work spaces. Think AT&T PARK, cuz it will be just like that environment.

All this info is at your fingertips...all you have to do is Google it...

There are a whole bunch of people in S.F. that want a new stadium to be in S.F. People were talking about the new football stadium at the exact same time they were building the baseball park. Everyone wants a new football stadium in S.F.!!!!!!!! Newsom just needs put some clear plans on the table or put someone in place that will complete the construction of the park. Newsom isn't in charge of some raggedywoodhicksville, he's handling one of the West's largest hubs of commerce and culture. There are priorities he has, so someone in the city has to step up. The infrastructure is ramping up in Hunters Point!!! Do it!!! Pick up that huge swath of land at the Buffalo fields in Golden Gate park, build the stadium there!! Throw it right there in the middle of Golden Gate park!! That would be great! Kezar 2.0 !! Knock down a couple hundred acres in Presidio and put it in there!! Use one of those huge open lots in the Mission. The new stadium can go wherever the hell we want in San Francisco!! Put someone in San Francisco in charge of getting this built, the front office for the 9ers is just trying to turn a buck. Newsom has too much going on right now, let's have a committee that's dedicated to building the San Francisco football stadium. Get it built!!

Go Niners!!!

If only the Yorks could put a winning team on the field. This probably would have lit a fire under Newsom and Lennar speed things up with the infrastructure.

@ Sonic - Gavin Newsom is going to be California's next LT. Governor, (maybe). So when he does move to the Capitol SF will get an interim new Mayor...maybe talks will start up again with SF. cuz Doctor York, and Jed York have some kind of grudge towards Newsom...thats where all the SF hatred comes from with them.
You guys still believe in this fiction?

its not because SF has failed to provide a legit stadium site for like 20 years now?

Gavin Newsom is a fruitcake, i cant stand that guy. he has a used car salesman personality, and stays popular by supporting whatever the people want regardless of moral or ethical issues. if i were the Yorks id tell him to sit on it and spin.
@ Niner99...Look, I live in the City that he governs...and for my money he does not deserve to be the Lt Gov. of California. But it is also not right to heap all the blame for a stadium not getting done here in the City of SF on Newsom either. I Believe Both Parties are to blame, the Yorks, and Newsom.

As for a site for the proposed stadium in SF... there are 2 Sites, HP, and Candlestick. And the voters of SF voted 3 times for a Stadium in the City, also Lennar Urban was willing to give the Yorks 1 Million Dollars towards building the stadium. The Stadium itself was going to be built with Private Funds.

But let me give you these LINKS to check out, then tell me who you think is at fault...I urge you to read them.

From the article above :

"The Yorks don’t care about representing San Francisco to the rest of the nation, all they care about is moving the team out of San Francisco to the first place that will provide a stadium for free..... Not that we want the Niners to leave, but the Yorks are making it impossible to live and die with this team"

Nolan had his struggles, but the problems were made worse by the Yorks. Singletary is dealing with the same thing. The 9ers need owners that are REALLY into football.

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF*CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK

THHHHHE

YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRKKKKKKKKKKKKKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Put the team in someones hands who can support them and a stadium in S.F. .

Go Niners!!!
After seeing the Cards stadium, New Geadowlands, and Cowboy Stadium aka Football heaven (I like the stadium, not the team). I'm wondering, why does it look like it was designed in 1975? You can look at the proposed LA stadiums too and it's waaaay better. I don't see anything cutting edge. And that whole we want it open seems like a way of saying "we don't want to pay for a roof or dome." Does anybody else notice all this?
WTF?

1) I don't need a fancyboy stadium to watch football in

2) WhyTF would we need a roof/dome in California? That makes absolutely no sense.

Oh yeah, and search function
