I agree with you.
What a stupid question to ask in the first place(Frank is the face of the offense and is still young).
It also goes to show you how many fake 49er fans are on this site.

Yeah, we'd have to get a top 10 QB or a better RB (in this case... there aren't many) to make me want to trade him.

No it doesn't, actually. But a lot of people here recognize that the average productive life of an NFL running back is short. And that the NFL is structures to penalize teams who hold on to players too long. Lot of people here love Frank and his heart but recognize realities.
That doesn't make them bad fans. We are not discussing the Cuddly Fluffy Teddy Bears League, here. That's in a different section

Trading Frank Gore away is pretty stupid. We have enough holes as it is, so why potentially create another one, especially since our new OC loves running the ball? Gore is only 25 years old. LT is 29 and hasn't slowed down. Edgerrin James is 30 and his YPC have gone up the past 2 years.
Yes, the RB position is more expendable than others, but NOT if you have no one else on your roster at the moment and you have so many other needs. Maybe if we had a Michael Turner in the wings, it would be OK. To trade away Frank Gore right now would be Golden State Warriors-like. Seriously, some of you need to wake up. Let the GMs do their jobs. LOL, trade away Frank Gore. I think the question should be, "Who do we get to compliment Gore and help our running game out?" I don't know if it's just me or what, but why are 49ers fans the most delusional of all, besides maybe Cowboys fans? Let's get realistic people. What's next, trade away Patrick Willis because we can find someone who might be 1 year younger and reach 300 tackles?

He'll be 26 at the start of the season. We realistically can't expect us to be contenders for AT BEST 2 YEARS. Which will make him 28. That's if we are indeed contenders in 2 years. We all know 30 is the key age for most RB's .
So if we could trade Gore for something of value why not? Especially if that player has a more legitmate shot at a longer shelf life than the 4 years.

No Way....Frank Gore IS the 49ers Offense right now....we have nothing else.
