Getting an All Pro for a draft pick is always good business as long as you can afford it. The bust rate for 1st rounders isn't great.

Here's the reality. If you're going to pay some stars, you've got to balance that out with rookie talent and contracts. Paying stars at their peak earnings hurts both cap and draft capital, and at that point, a Very high percent of them will drop off in performance and availability, and longevity, and result in dead cap money. Myles Garrett easily has 3 yrs of high end play left, the 14+ sack leader your questioning has double digit sacks 7 years in a row, best help he's had was Clowney in that time. Pair him with Bosa imagine what he can do and vice versa.
